I just won an iPad, from an event I volunteered at, and was curious if any of you use them instead of laptop/computer based DAWs?

Gorillaz did it. I don't remember the name of the album (The Fall, or The Drop or something).
I know that it's possible, and if not, they're still amazing performance tools.

The most popular seems to be Auria, I just wonder how well the ipad compatible audio interfaces would handle running a mixer into them. Nonetheless, Blue did finally update their mikey to work with the newer models, and those sound surprisingly good for recording practices and gigs.

Oh wow, that looks pretty sharp. I am right that I could just run my mackie mixer outputs into both of it's inputs and record like a fully mic'd drum kit, right?

Yeah, but I don't know if all the pins would line up and it would still function the same way... I have the first edition of the Mikey that was kind of a pain with the iPhone when it came out (it was supposed to just be used with ipods or something).

That's not too far off, I'm fine waiting a bit.
Anyone have any info on the irig set up or something similar, looking for something cheap that I could plug guitar in. Since my computers busted I plan on getting a new one soon more geared towards doing some small homes recordings and what not, so I don't really want something expensive for the iPad or too large and unnecessary
