Sorry that I haven't introduced myself and it's an horrible way to start a first post on a great forum.
I have been a longtime ILF lurker, but an active OSG and surfguitar101 member.
A year ago I bought something from Bubstance (more than 500,-, guitarbody, neck, pickup etc.) but I haven't received it yet, and haven't had a word from him since July. He had big private troubles etc, so I didn't want to push him. But in the end it he seems to be a scammer after all.
I noticed he is more active on ILF than on OSG and I was wondering if someone could provide me with some info about this guy.

All help will be much appreciated.

He flaked on last years "ILF Secret Santa", replaced a bunch of his post with "." and then came back around on his birthday only to say he wanted to kill himself.

I don't know anything about him personally but he seems like a whiny shitbag.

That's unfortunate.
I had a good deal with him about two years ago, but clearly things have changed.

Only guy to flake on SS completely rather than space out for a month. On that subject, what's with the lack of SS 2012 postings?

sucks that happened. My only suggestion would be to file a claim, but it might be too late for that? Either way, it sucks something like this happened in the first place

One year is too late... with PayPal you have 40 days to file a claim.
Sorry for that bad news.

It's not completely a year ago, but I paid it as a gift. I bought a neck from him and around april an additional pickup. The guitar body came from somebody else and he offered himself to pack the items together and ship the whole package completely to me.

Ewwwwwwwwww......never do gift. Kind of a stupid thing to say to you, now, but yeah.

And there's a few guys on every forum that ask to get stuff gifted to them....it's like....I understand it makes your pedal seem a little cheaper than it really is but all I see is "scam".

oh fuck, that's NOT good so sorry to hear people have got burned in deal with an old ILF member, he always seemed to me like a solid dude, before the Secret Santa issue, but... sometimes people change and stressful life stituation bring out the worst of them. Unfortunately this isn't the first, nor will it be the last of such dissapointments in people on gear forum trades.

I kind of recall that he worked for a luthier or guitar shop in Arizona but I could be wrong.

If you know his name and address, call the police and make a report. They may not be able to arrest him but
it might spook him into shipping you your stuff assembled or not.

What ever the case don't just count it as a loss. Harass this fucker (find his #, call him at work etc.) until you see results.

Don't know him but hope it gets worked out.

The stuff is being shipped in 3 hours when I go to the UPS store. I was never going to scam anyone, but I definitely see how in seems that way.

No sob story, no excuses. Steve, I'll be reimbursing you for the cost of the neck ($275 USD) through PayPal when I get my paycheck after the 1st of the month.

I'll also be sending both Steve and Gonkulator the tracking number as well as posting it for anyone interested to see it get to Steve.
