This is a great way to test pedals... Give 'em White Noise...

We should leave this here so people can post White Noise Pedal Demos and see how close it gets to the Share Your Noise thread...

This vid LOOKS AWESOME and is LOUD so watch out, it's not me...

NEED TO WATCH.

White noise generators aren't super hard to build either, and you could put a filter on it and get all sorts of noise between white and pink!

Wow that's loud.

I like the idea of this, I don't have a white noise generator at the moment, but if this thread is still alive when I finish my MFOS noise toaster, I'll be all over it like jam on toast....

The MFOS white noise generator looks seriously awesome. I think it might be chip based, but still analog. But with a ton of different types of white noise

Do you mean the white noise section from the Experimenter Board? I was going to try and build the whole thing, but I chickened out due to lack of debugging skills. Managed to get the WSG going, and the toaster doesn't look too bad, but that full-fat experimenter board would probably show me up to be the charlatan builder I really am....
Do you have any recommendations/ links for building a white noise generator, skullservant?

Nah, there is a dedicated White Noise generator project he's got burried on the site as well!

Runs on 12v but still rad:

I've built this one a year or two ago and it's got a rather weak output, but if you put a clean boost after it, it sounds great.

Thanks man, that looks interesting- I may break out the soldering iron tomorrow. I think I should have all the parts laying around already :)

Yeah dude, no problem. Might want to make sockets for those transistors so you can swap in different ones to get better textures. Put a distortion after it and zone out

Here it be... I turned them on in order and let each go for about a min then turned on the next and then played with them all at the end... I think you can kinda tell by the waveform where I turned them on and off... Might be loud but maybe not... Turned out pretty cool...
