You getting it? I am
My 3Gs died after I went swimming with it in my pocket, so I guess that's a sign. I'll be that guy eating ramen for a while however...

I'm getting a 4 tomorrow. Not a 4S, just a 4. They're $99. I'm excited to just have something a little faster than my 3Gs and with a better camera

I might move up to a 4S after a while but I need to wait for my contract renewal.

The 4 should be free if you're up for a renewal:

fuck the 5. I've got a 4 right now, and honestly, it's a little faster and it has a better screen. that's the extent of the 5. Apple's kinda losing it's appeal to me. I was messing around with my friends Galaxy 3, and it's a fucking amazing phone. Only thing is, my iphone is so damn convenient with itunes and apple mail and shit.

That's pretty much the appeal of the iphone in general. It is damn convenient. It will be interesting to see if the new windows phones provide that same kind of convenience...

doubt it. Samsung is on top of their shit. Especially since Apple is suing them left and right for having a phone with "rounded corners". Apple feels threatened and is trying to stop it. I think an apple exec even said the Samsung Galaxy is "essentially the same" as the iphone. except it's got a much better screen, it's much faster, and is just all around better. I wish i had free apps...

I'm switching over and combining with my wife's plan since my contract will be up on Friday so we can have it on one bill instead of two. So I guess it pays for convenience haha

Hilariously enough, Samsung and HTC own patents on the LTE tech that Apple implemented in the iPhone 5, and they're taking them to court over patent infringement. So, the iPhone 5 might get fucked. HTC is already starting the process, and Samsung hasn't commented yet. I can find the article, if anyone wants.
Also, obligatory "FBI and CIA have all your personal info from your iPhone" comment.

yeah Apple also just got a patent where they can make your phone not work in certain locations. apparently they didn't like how people were protesting in certain places and thought "wouldn't it be awesome if we could make all the people in that location not able to use their phone?" dick move apple. dick move.

Yeah, I remember reading about that. I'd be more worried about the whole FBI Datamining thing. Apparently their claim for collecting data is that the collection doesn't qualify as an illegal search, but actually looking through what they've collected counts is, and would require a warrant. I mean, honestly, the whole situation is sketch, between the FBI denying the iPhone database was theirs, and the Apple patent you've mentioned. As much as I'd like a smart phone, I can't help but fall into the group of people that think "Why would I want an easy to tap surveillance device that I keep in my pocket every day, all day?"
I'm also having a paranoid/anxious night, so, chalk that up as you'd like, but it's my general feelings on it.

Meh on Apple on the realz. I have a Razor, new one, and it's like 4 times more powerful than the I-phone. Why would I want an I-phone? I-boner?
