Not sure if this is the best forum for this.

I'm currently using a Mac Pro tower. I like it just fine. But I'm looking for a PC laptop so I can be mobile and have something to do a little gaming on. It's been a minute(several years)since I've been in the market for a computer, none the less something that has to actually perform well, so I could sure use some guidance. Could get something good for around $1,000? Would it kick a n00b's ass too much build one? Would it even save me money?

Any advice would be appreciated.

If you're willing to spend that type of money on a PC you might as well just get another Mac in laptop form

Can't game on a Mac.

Have you looked in to Alienware? I'm no computer expert but they seem to be great for gaming. Not sure if that is out of price range though

It might be better to get a laptop for recording and stuff, and a desktop for gaming. Unless you wanna run current games on really high settings you can build a pretty decent gaming PC + get a laptop that'll do all you want, minus gaming, for less than the price of a crazy gaming laptop that still won't be as powerful as a cheaper gaming desktop.
