So I need a new bag...

Another cheap backpack is falling apart on me and I figured it's time to invest in a better bag that'll last me:

What I'd like:
-backpack style
-fairly big, enough for lugging around textbooks and other school stuff, my ipad, odds and ends, maybe even groceries and definitely a 6 pack of beer.
-A couple different sections, one for my ipad, a big one for textbooks or groceries and a smaller one for odds and ends (pencils, pens, wallet, phone)
-durable
-a solid degree of weatherproofing
-comfortable while I'm on my bike

I don't want to spend more than $150 so obviously know I won't get the best of the best but I'm sure there is something in that budget that'll do. Any suggestions?

Reposted from some back pack thread a while back.

All these companies make double strap bags. They're all about $100 more than you wanna spend. Save up the extra bucks and buy a quality bag. It'll last you years.

Yes, they're way more expensive, but should last a lifetime.

I got a $50 swiss gear backpack from target and I think it's great :idk:
I'd say it fits the bill of everything you're looking for, though I can't speak about comfort while riding a bike.

WOAH....

Woah....

Maybe I'm just completely outdated on this, but there are actually backpacks that cost $150 and MORE??
Like..... for SCHOOL? Not mountain climbing or some crazy shit? jdessusss.

I don't think I ever spent more than $30 for a bag in high school and college, but then again I was el cheapo.

The ones In the second post are all around $200 and I've seen some priced at 3 or 400. But this would be more than just for school, I basically need something for groceries and traveling as well. I don't have a car so I need something I can shove a ton of shit in if need be. Also has to be completely waterproof and last more than two years like every other backpack I've used.

yeah, but like I'm one of those people, I got a backpack with me everywhere. It's not just carrying some books, it carries my life man. I'm like fucking mary poppins, except the gum and dope runs out eventually

Yah, I warned you they're expensive, but they're worth it. Totally not disposable. Aside from price, they meet all your criteria.

I mean, it's something you're gonna be using every day. Might as well buy some quality baggage.

Yeah I'm thinking about springing for one of those Mission workshop bags, I've spent more on a pedal that was flipped in a month or so. I'm going to flip a few pedals and get a nice bag.

What do you think of Chrome bags? They seem to be really hyped but only know one person that uses one :idk:
