I'm using Lava Cable (Gotham GAC-1 Ultra Pro).
One of my cable just broke... so I got one of my old Digiflex to replace it and everything sound so bright now, it's annoying.

I don't feel like purchasing a 100$ cable but want something decent.

Anybody's using the Lava Cable Soar?

I've kept the same live-wire cables om and off for the past 5 yearss
Aside from build quality, which is nearly making me get lava cables, i don't find it colors the tone all the much

Did you guys with big board use high ends cables like Evidence Forte or Voxvox Sonorum or a bit less expensive Lava Soar... or you stick with less expensive cable?

I use vovox at home and Studio. Also the grindy cop by Sommer cables.
Armour Gold as normal practice and live cable. Between the effects it depends? Small boards have armour gold, big ones cheap cables by Cordial.
Imho: more treble, more Details. Deal with it.

If you've got a buffered input on your board and a buffered out you can use whatever cables you want and you want lose any detail - capacitance is only an issue on long unbuffered chains/cables. So you can buy anything and it will sound good with buffers.

But if you want good, cheap cables, I'd recommend making your own cables - I'd never done this before and was shit scared of making a mess of things, but I spent the whole summer making cables for my board. I made around 35 cables, messed up 3 and couldn't be bothered fixing them so I just have them in my "think about this later" pile. I'm super happy now!

I've made a photo tutorial for myself which I could send ya if you want to go that route.

Dirt cheap, ultra low capacitance, build quality as good as you make it - but if you are methodical there is no reason why you can't build them as well as expensive gear. I will seriously never buy a cable again after building these. The first few took around 40 minutes to make as I was so nervous/unsure, but by the end I got it down to around 16 minutes per cable.

PS: I used to hate guys who recommended making your own cables and saying how easy it is - it always seemed like something I just didn't have the skillset for. And it is easy once you get the technique right, but the first few cables are super challenging! After a while it is hard to work out how it was so hard. But after wasting a truckload of money on Lava solderless, and buying a few expensive Dimarzio and Planetwaves cables I'm much happier with my cables for the first time ever.

Oh yeah - whether you choose gold/nickel or whatever for the interconnects doesn't matter. Buy gold if you think it looks sweet but it makes no difference to the audio path.

Hope these posts haven't come across as a rant - just trying to be somewhat helpful, but I understand that there are different strokes for different folks!

Mogami and Canare are pretty high capacitance, which is fine if you're going for that and basically irrelevant if after a buffer.

For low cap, Gepco X-band is very low cap cheap and available in cut lengths. Bill Lawrence/Wilde cable is also very low capacitance, can be soldered, and is reasonable by the foot.

I've always used cheap....just placed an order on a Glockenklang Blue Soul and it comes with two high end Glock instrument cables. Guess I'm kinda joining the club.

Since the Soar is solid core, it isn't as flexible as other cables. If you move around a lot when you play you might not dig it, and some folks on TGP have talked about their soars failing over time. I have a Lave coily cable that does the trick. Sounds good to my ears and I like a brighter sound generally speaking.

You have a lot of pedals on your board you should just use a buffer. It sounds scary because everyone tells you buffers are evil, but all that true bypass is no bueno.

Higher capacitance = more high end roll off.

Yeah, I was totally off saying Mogami is low capacitance - checked the specs (good start!) and it's around 40pF per foot. Gepco around half that. It's a matter of debate how much difference you'll hear, and it'll depend a lot on how your rig is set up. And their Canadian so ah, buy their shit. Solid Gold FX, also Canadians, makes a nice little buffer.

I'm super biased when it comes to Road Rage, I got really good service from them, so I'm unreasonably enthusiastic about all their gear

My board is a Road Rage I love it... might get a true bypass looper from them too.

Anybody tried Divine Noise Cable? That's what Neil Cline is using and they cost like 50$ not as expensive as the other brand.
