I have realised I love the vox sound and their 'chime' so I wanted to ask about the ac15c1.

I realise they aren't known for masses of headroom but as my band are only at the stage of
very small gigs, would one be loud enough for that and still be a bit clean?

Also I read a lot about them not taking dirt pedals too well, I use a fuck a demo tape fuzz
and a wolf CPU. I am aware of the bright cap mod but wonder if my GE7 would be able
to tame the treble? How does the bright cap mod affect the clean tone?

Finally if there are any other amps you recommend I look at I would like to know.

I had an AC15CC1 and I loved it (but I've heard better things about the c1). If you're just doing small gigs, you'll be fine. I played a couple tiny bars with that thing and don't think I ever had to turn it up past half volume. Plus with the treble boost control you can have quite a bit of control over where it starts to break up.

I never had trouble with pedals either.

And I'm not sure about the bright cap mod.

Yeah, 15w is not a lot to be playing with a loud drummer.

You can pretty much forget about clean headroom.

Also, I thought this thread was gonna be about a pedal that would give me the "chimes" sounds of those Hawaiian steel guitarists.

Ha sorry to confuse you it just seems that it is mandatory to use that word when
discussing vox. I shall now go teach myself electronics and make that pedal just
for you! you might need to wait a few years.

Awesome. Thank you. I'll be waiting for that pedal. Until then I'll just have to get better at playing harmonics.

If you decide the AC15 isn't for you, I think you'll be able to find a chimey amp that may be better suited to your needs.
(... or a least a pedal that can make your amp sound like a chimey amp.)
15w can be plenty loud. Just not with a loudass drummer. If I were you, I'd look into something in the 30w range maybe (or even 50w).
