SO I havent been on here for a while as I have been writing a lot of new songs and now I need to know some really solid recording programs to get. I recorded this song on my friend's Line 6 recording/effect thingy mabob:http://soundcloud.com/grey-state. But that was made almost a year ago so I need my own recording equipment. Please give me references.

Reaper is good and has an unlimited free trial, and isn't even expensive if you decide to buy it.

I like Harrison Mixbus for straight recording and mixing.

Ohm Studio is also interesting for remote collaboration and is in open beta until October. I haven't had time to do a complete project in it, so haven't reached a conclusion on it (one downside is that you can't work offline).
