so what'd y'all think?

like/dislike?

etc. etc.

aside from the many preachy speeches, and the could-have-been-worse national anthem scene, it was my favorite of the trilogy. any criticisms will be blown out of proportion for people's sympathy for Heath Ledger's performance rather than the actual quality of the movie. Bane was the best villain of the entire trilogy and finally did justice to the character that scared the piss out of me during Knightfall

Well, it was different.

It seemed very day-time oriented, whereas the other two were more night-time, so made it feel less "dark".But the whole military/civil-militia vibe from bane's outfit to the desert warfare batmobiles, was awesome. Really didn't like the anthem, kid sounded ok, but sort of off as well, just did not like it, but it suited it. It seemed right, but felt wrong, which I guess was cool, if you take it for symbolism.

Totally guessed the twist of the chick being the daughter of Rhaz al Ghul. New she was the bad dude from the beginning, seemed rather obvious...

But otherwise thoroughly enjoyed, a very strong ending to the trilogy.

I thought it was a great wrap up to the Trilogy.

yeah i'm pretty satisfied. i think people complaining about the twist will be 100% people-who-never-read-the-comics

I loved Bane's voice, it was as funny and tickling as the Joker's.

[spoiler]

I wish Bane and the girl didn't die so cheese-ily though.

I swear sometimes I feel like I watch a different movie than everyone else, and when I hate it, I'm accused of hating it to be cool/pretentious/whatever.

Long and short: I thought it was absolutely awful. Incomprehensible batmess.

Did anyone else think of this during the climax?

My least favorite of the trilogy, the pacing was just off/it's slightly bloated. There is a brilliant 1hr40m movie floating in there somewhere.
I get why cuts couldn't be made...and viewing the trilogy as a whole, it's still very strong.

Loved Bane. The voice/dialogue and his mannerisms. Tom Hardy was unrecognizable.
SPOILER : show
Loved Talia's "reveal". I was waiting the entire film for it to happen, knew it was coming...yet somewhere along the way I forgot and was totally floored when it happened.
Hathaway did a pretty good job as well.

Not a fan of the Batwing, and Gotham was a bit too shiny/bright for my taste (DK was also guilty of this, though the first film got it right)

The Nolan Batmans might be one of the most consistent/strong trilogies of all time.
Star Wars had too many weak points and LOTR lost me somewhere into the 2nd and for much of the 3rd.

i have to say, Hathaway surprised me a lot. city didn't bother me because it beats an overly grody omg so dark and edgy take

I feel like they nailed it with Bane, they portrayed both his raw power and intelligence well. I also love how they handled the lazarus pit.

ALL SPOILERS
NSFW: show
Thought it went over the top. a nuclear bomb? The bat plane flies it out in the middle of the day? The bat plane looked like a real piece of shit. At least the Tumbler seemed functional.

Anne Hathaway is so un-sexy to me. Sex appeal is such a huge part of Catwoman, and I just didn't see it.

ASide from all that, I thought it was AMAZING! I see why Nolan went with daylight, epic scale, so on and so forth, because they were challenges. Also trying to make Hathaway sexy was a real challenge. (failed)
Bane was brilliant. Cool voice and mannerism. Also totally forgot Talia was in this picture, so when she stabbed batman I was like AW FUCK!!!!!

The Blake/Robin aspect was fucking great. Blake is essentially batmans sidekick by the climax, and I LOVED that batman passed the mantle on. such a great story in the "realistic" world of the Nolan/Bale Batman franchise. Also loved Ras al Ghouls line "there are many forms of immortality" and Bane's "Victory has defeated you!" (made me think of Jack White)

Supporting cast was stellar as well, Alfred, the cops, (esp. blake) and Fox.
