just wondering what my fuzz brothers think. i know most here want crazy loud and whatnot, but fuck, I'm am falling more and more for this dumb amp.
just crank the shit out of it and you're good to go. hit it with a little boost, bam! even cranked fuzzes sound good with it (with judicious use of your guitars volume knob.)
more bass than a Deluxe, to my ears. more mids too. more everything! why do people like Deluxes so much?

anyway, yeah!

I much prefer princetons, as well. That's a beautiful looking set-up right there, and you have a very nice house! (if that's your house.)

No, but I'd love to own one day. It'd be the perfect size for me, and they sound DANK. What model is yours? Custom?

Nice rig as usual, Zounds. :)*

thanks, wsa3, yeah, that's my crib. those windows could use a good scrubbing.

and the amp is a Princeton clone - a Magic Vibro Prince. killer little amp. I actually should be getting my second one in a week or so! thinking the two of 'em in stereo with the TTE should be pretty bitchin. :animal:
I've always preferred blackface amps with tens - I also have a '66 Vibrolux and a Super clone - but never bought a Princeton because I figured it would be underpowered.
But man...I'm just blown away by how great the clean tones are as well as how good it sounds all cranked up. I never thought I'd like a blackface amp as much as my Vibrolux, but this thing is gaining ground quickly.
One group I'm playing in now is actually quiet enough that the Vibro Prince works great, too.

and thanks for the compliment...really happy with my gearz these days.

cool. I bet a non-reverb Princeton would be great for a lot of ILFers...supposed to be clean all the way. Probably great for fuzzzzzz.

I would love a Princeton someday, but current apartment living/general brokeness dictate that I stick with my Vibro Champ for now.

I think princetons are nice amps but I don't find them as open as other amps.. :idk: too even for me.. I think it is the speaker that I don't care for though.. I play with a guy that has two 68s that he uses with acoustic guitars for blues and they rock but when I play though the things that 10" speaker is just.... don't know...

There are great 10"s, there are not so great 10"s. I dig 'em in blackface amps, though...10"s generally are a little more middy, maybe, which is helpful in scooped amps like blackfaces.
If his 68s still have the stock speakers...dunno. some can with great Jensen C10Ns, some came with Utah garbage, I think.
