I think the time has come for the black russian and my chain to part ways.
I'm trying to think of a sweet replacement and at the moment I think I"m down to either a green muff, a Fender Blender, or a Musket.
I'm sure there's a world of other options I should consider over the next few weeks before I order me something sweet.
In particular I'm after something that offers the low end of the muff, but that doesn't have as much tone such and volume drop as I'm getting with my muff. Lately I've been finding that when I step on the muff, my guitar disappears.

I think they are more trebelly a bit (but I never tried one).

Def sounds like the musket is heading down the road I Want to go, but I might check some blunderbuss reviews as well. I think once I get a replacement, I might start tinkering with my big muff and see what I can do with it.

Depending on the size of your black Russian's box, it may already have the green Russian circuit. Is it a big box? I'd also advise you to look into a hoof. More output than a musket and more muffy in my opinion. Musket is almost a crossover distortion in some ways. Surprised no one has said Pharaoh either. I feel it's closest to a Green while also providing a mids knob. Can't speak for the blunderbuss though.
