Any idea if this is legal?

So, my cousin has left this AMPEG amp at my place for the better part of 2 years now, and I haven't heard from him in a while.

If I move without getting a hold of him, does anyone know if I can sell this bitch without legal repercussions in NY?

Just seems like an easy month and a half of rent for something I don't use that's taking up mad space.

I can't give you any legal advice, but why are you even worrying about legal repercussions?

He's your cousin and it's still his amp no matter how long he's left it in your possession.

If I were you, I'd make every attempt to contact him and if he hasn't responded by the time you're actually ready to move, then I'd sell it. (Assuming, of course, it holds no sentimental value to him.) If you do end up selling it, you can concern yourself with paying him back for it later.

Yeah, that's the plan, I'm just wondering whether it's within legal grounds for me to do that.

For sure. But I can't afford to move the damn thing, and if he doesn't pick it up, it might be what I have to do. :idk:

if he hasnt bothered to come get it and you cant get a hold of him seems like ur only option. sell it or have to pay out of you pocket to move it or put it in storage :idk: doesnt seem that wrong to me if youve exhausted every attempt to get it to him. and plus if he hasnt made an attempt to get it in two years doesnt seem like hes been missing it much

Seems like since he's your cousin you could easily leave it with some other family members for him if you can't get in contact.

i dunno. i'd kinda be like fuck him. give it an honest go trying to get at him and if nothing comes of it, what're you s'posed to do? be responsible for somebody's loot that they don't seem to care about? for how long?

..... but i'm a little weird about family. i truly don't care if somebody's related to me. it matters if i know the person, not if we share some ephemeral bloodline connection. i care WAY more about friends than i do some family member i may barely know.

If you can't get through to him just flog it. Even if you do get a court summons in the post (Which seems pretty unlikely) just pay your cousin back. If he hasn't touched it in two years you'll be okay.
