Well, there have been lots of phenomenal artists out there, and sadly (in my opinion) mainstream comic book art is dying. Read the article, and notice the sheer volume of his output:

I had to get the first two volumes off of Amazon....worth it. I don't think the collected volumes are being printed anymore, either. It's just amazing to think about how people used to make art like that with their hands, and not with some adobe program, or whatever. Bring back the human touch!!!!

Savage Sword of Conan ruled hard. I never understood why they didn't choose one of the early story lines from SSoC for one of the Arnold movies. Alcala and Frazetta pretty much created the iconic Conan look.

Yup. The movie took a lot of elements from the stories in Savage Sword, and I'm assuming the Howard novels, too.
