Serious personal dilemma

Soooooooooo,
Is no one else out there to have fun and just enjoy themselves anymore? I'm playing normal friendly card games with my roommates tonight, and they are getting butthurt and salty vag'ed at the fact that we aren't following the rules 110% and keeping the competition just that, a competition. I'm there to have fun and keep a light hearted edge on the whole thing and to kill a few hours of life with company instead of alone. but these fuckers want to keep things serious and to the "T" with fucking everything. Roommate calls me out on not giving my my other roommate my top two best cards. I gave her my best two different cards instead of my top two same cards. Nitpicking at the rules at this point btw. Goes on on and on how I cheated and the whole game is a farce and that I'm a fucking liar and will never trust me on anything and would tell any girl I meet that I'm a cheater and all kinds of other bullshit...
They went on to quit the game and play xbox and they always ask me why I never want to join them upstairs anymore lol.
Am I the only person that wants to just have fun anymore? Life's not a competition, and neither is it a fucking race, so come on, lighten up Francis, enjoy life a little. So you lost a game of fucking presidents and assholes, its a goddamn game and that's it.
I mean am I wrong to think this way? Is my head in the clouds and I need to get the fuck out? Cause I'm really getting sick of all kinds of people 'cause they take shit way to serious all the fucking time.

Man, this kind of stuff happens all the time here. The worst is the people who play Smash Brothers in the lounge and refuse to play with items enabled. It completely takes all the fun out of the game for people who just want to hang out and relax, which is, you know, what a lounge is for. "But items turn it into a game of chance and skill doesn't matter when there's items!" Well, yeah, they add some luck to the game, but if I'm playing against someone who practices for a couple hours every day, we all know I'm just going to lose in five seconds instead of maybe killing you with a badass Pokemon a couple times before I get knocked out. Oh, and I stole your kill? SHUT THE FUCK UP, BITCH
I mean, I'm actually a very competitive person. I was that asshole who would be pissed when he "only" got a 98 on a math exam. But you have to be selective about when you're being competitive. Relaxation time is not a time to be competitive, and you're not impressing anyone or advancing your life prospects by winning a children's game.

I dunno, I just feel as if life is way simpler than all these other fuckers try and make it to be. Society has taught us to fight and follow the crowd and be competitive with everything, and all the fun has been lost. Dog eat dog and that's it. Kinda depressing really.

I'd rather deal with dicks who are out for fun than a bunch of srs business only stupid fuckers.

folks should agree at the beginning if they're going to be all crucial about game/sports rules or not. there's some things i could give a fuck about being precise with...let's face it, 90% of us are gonna suck at most "sports," so there's no point getting all "that was an illegal pitch!" about it. however, in Scrabble i'm an absolute "if it's not in the dictionary" BITCH because i'm really good at it. but i wouldn't make everybody else play by that if they just wanted to have fun. if you spell it right, fuck it, let's move on and smoke another unless we're having a Battle Royale.

Having played competitive sports my whole life, I have tried to always treat (with inconsistent success) board / card / miniature games as a relaxing, fun, non-competitive activity.
My suggestion to the OP is to make new friends and/or move out, or find a game that your housemates won't take so seriously.
If someone called me a "cheater" and was going to talk shit like they did to the OP, they wouldn't be my friend.

Sounds like there's more going on than just a simple card game.

Come to Croatia to hang out. I'm gonna have the house for a week in about a month.
Smoke's on me. Bring yer own trips and music equipment, and let's do shit! Trippy talks and recordings and everything.
Hell, a webcam coordinated meetup with everyone recording what they're talking about works with me.
The trippier the conversation, the better!
Then people can watch it while tripping' and blow their minds out

To be fair... What is fun for one person may not be fun for another. Competition can bring meaning to a game where the lack of of results may feel like wasted time. I don't think one way or the other is "right" mind you... Just different.

Good point, but extrapolating someone's preference in forms of having fun to his general life and telling every other girl he's a bitch and whatnot is not exactly kosher.
