Dude crashed the set with a Super 8 and sat on the footage for 30 years.
A few days ago, decides to upload it on youtube.

WOW! Thanks for sharing! I am a huge Star Wars freak. I have a HUGE SW Toy Collection, a good chunk is from the 70s/80s. Those movies warped me for life!
So cool to see the scale of the undertaking.

I would almost agree with you on the cgi thing, except for the light sabers. I'm still haunted by the rotoscope (or did they use the spinning shiny sticks for that one???)glitch on Ben Kenobi's lightsaber during the duel with vader in a new hope. It just irks me for some reason.

Tasteful CGI can totally enhance a film.
An over-reliance on it can break it.
Heh...tasteful CGI...is there even such a thing? I guess the original trilogy counts but that was more a limitation of the times.
If the original trilogy was made today they'd be bursting at the seams with cgi/green screen sets (you know...like the prequels

)
