So some people may remember I did a contest last year, where people submitted recommendations for what they considered mindblowing music to me, and I picked one and sent them a pedal - Maybe it was 2 pedals? I don't really remember.
There's been a ton of stuff in "The spite, hate, rage, apathy and mild irritation thread..." from a ton of users, so I thought maybe a contest would brighten somebodies day. Who doesn't like winning stuff? And, I think it's good to do something like this once in a while. It's good for the community.
Pick an album (only one) that you consider mindblowing, unique, original, etc. and post it in this thread. I can't have heard it before - if I have I'll PM you and tell you to change your entry. Include either a youtube link, soundcloud link, download link, website, whatever. Any one of those or something else where I can listen to some of the music.
The contest will begin now and end on Friday (6/8) at 12pm EST.
Prizes:
The Humble Indie Bundle gifted to you (if you already have it I'll send it to an ILF user of your choice) -
http://www.humblebundle.com/A couple of random comic books or a manga from the local comic book store -
http://www.comicopia.com/Some guitar picks, including a sweet Freakishly Large Pointed V-Pick (I only have 1 unused one so the other winner will get a few regular picks) -
http://v-picks.com/productdetails.php?q=21&page=picksSome stickers
Whatever other stuff I decide to throw in there
I'll pick 2 winners that I'll send packs of this stuff to. It doesn't matter where you are in the world. I'll ship it to you.

That's so awesome! I think that's very kind.
My recommendation would be DJ Shadow's Endtroducing.... The whole album is nothing but samples.

The most emotional and gut wrenching thing I've ever listened to.

Hospice tells the story of a relationship between a hospice worker and a female patient suffering from terminal bone cancer, their ensuing romance, and their slow downward spiral as a result of the woman's traumas, fears, and disease. Frontman Peter Silberman has been reluctant to divulge explicit details regarding the meaning of the record, and the extent to which it is autobiographical.

Basically an album put together by a guy who flew out to Africa in the 70's to set up a label. Most of the bands on the compilation come from Benin and Togo and sound like regional versions of James Brown records, there's a few more in the series but this is by far the best.

I offer you Hybrid's first album, Wide Angle. Progressive breakbeat backed by the Russian Federal Orchestra, with Julee Cruise providing vocals on half the tracks. My favorite electronic album
ever.

This might be a personal thang, but this guy is really blowing my mind. One of the best guitarists I have ever heard. Think James Blackshaw, Alexander Tucker or John Fahey.
Here is the newest album on bandcamp:

What makes this so special to me is that I discovered him in a portuguese magazine. Last time I'd heard of him before was when he was blasting out Nirvana's Polly on the stairs of our school. I know this dude since he's 14 or so.

He is Legend - I Am Hollywood
This album is just insane. Schuylar Croome is one of the most amazing vocalists I've ever heard, and the instrumentals are amazing.
Everything about this is incredible.

EDIT
changed my mind. Here's Marriages. Just released an ep called Kitsune that's fantastic. it's Emma Ruth Rundle from Red Sparrowes on vocals and guitar for some excellent music.

By the way, I just like spreading good music, so I'd prefer if someone else wins. The prize box will make pretty much everyone else happier than it would make me.
