Esoterics // Superstition

What are your weird, off beliefs? Some guilty pleasures in your belief system? Some shit you'd rather not have your friends know but will tell us, because we are just the internet?

I, for instance, am a huge zodiac nut. I keep trying to explain every person in horoscope terms. Used to think that was all bullshit until a buddys mom analyzed my birth chart for me and it totally blew my mind and did change my perspective on myself a little. There was some stuff she said that she could not have possibly known and that was really weird for me. Since then I paid more attention and do notice certain similarities between f.ex. people of the same sign.

An ex was really into chakra theory. Some of the stuff she told me about it was baffling too. I have not yet decided what to think of it though.

There are a couple more.
-telepathy
-thelema/magick
-the first dream in the new house comes true
-wish upon a falling star
-one wish for twelve raisins eaten to the twelve bells in a new year.
-animism

If you want a more detailed reading, google the sign you get (it's the first link in most cases).
Based on the mayan calender. It's awesome. <3
Had my natal chart read a few days ago and it fit. (I didn't trust the zodiac before I had that reading)
But I like to think that we can outgrow it all anyway.

I like watching Bashar :D
And Alan Watts. And Jiddu Krishnamurti is cool. So is Bruce Lee, Siddhartha, Lao Tze and Jesus (yeah lol).
They helped me out a lot with their thoughts.

But I don't know. So much weird stuff going on a daily basis I don't consider anything weird/paranormal anymore.

Also, Transurfing is awesome! (I'm told I'm doing that even tho I never read the book before).

And if you want peace of mind, meditate. This is cool to start ya off:

I'm a fan of Krishnamurti, he was a wise man, but one time I was reading some excerpts from one of his lectures and he said something that made me think "Oh, man, that has no basis whatesover in reality. You've never actually been in that situation." I still love him, just not as much.

I have this weird belief that there is no connection between things within the universe and that things simply happen only because of directly provable previous events. The existence of a higher power is entirely irrelevant to this ideology. I believe that there is no such real thing as ethics and it should certainly not be taken into most political debate until all tangible, provable aspects have been taken into consideration.

Basically, I'm an absurdist and a centrist. That seems less common than one would think. And I feel like I'm being squeezed in by wacky ideas from both sides.

I LOVE ASTROLOGY. not just that back of cosmo sun sign stuff either. i try to keep up with the motion of celestial bodies and shit. (mostly mercury tho, cuz retrograde mercury fucks my shit up.) everyone should have their natal chart done! i also definitely once wrote a paper about solar flares and their impacts on human affairs.

i'm also really into crystal metaphysics. i found this book about going into crystals for meditation/self work and past life regressions and shit when i was like 10. weird thing to put into your worldview at that age. i'm pretty ambivalent about past lives, but i believe quartz holds and helps direct energies. also really into feeling peoples' energies and to a lesser extent, auras. i used to be able to see auras, but i can't anymore.

i'll consider most new-agey stuff for at least a little while.

I believe there are, or were, or will be other intelligent lifeforms on other planets out there. I don't think that what exists here on erf is all there ever will be. Maybe humans will never encounter them. Maybe they used to exist or do exist in a place so far away that we'll never encounter them.
I'm not into UFO theories, abductions, or anything like that though.
The size of the universe as it's known to us is amazing and it's also a bummer that so much of it is so far out of reach.

Evolution. No intrinsic truths or morals to the universe besides cause and effect. No altruism. The universe, by nature, HAS to be infinite. Think about it. What's outside the solar system? Ok. What's outside the galaxy? Now what? and After that? There can't be a true beginning or end. That wouldn't make any sense. Not that much anything makes sense when looked at through human eyes.

So this:

But, recognizing that humans need some psychological drama, etc.... I'm really more into what this guy had to say:

I firmly believe in karma (both regular and spider) and jinx/being jinxed.

I knock on wood a lot.
