Fender Power Deluxe Telecaster

So I have a Power Deluxe Tele that a friend of mine gave me (after he took the neck) and it needed some service so I took care of that. However I do not like the fact that it has a Fishman power bridge. By the amount of rust (not much but evident around the saddles) I can tell it most likely has had some moisture damage to the board and 2 of the piezo saddles are very very dull sounding. I was curious how hard a rewire job to remove the active bridge to make passive would be? I have to keep the same bridge because it is a different size than starndard tele bridges and the holes become exposed so I am thinking just new saddles. I will try to get some gut shots but I am not ready to unstring it yet, mainly just seeking knowledge on an active>passive conversion.

Ok I finally got around to taking out the active fishman (still have to use the bridge due to no other bridges fitting, I mean NONE! ughhh

Anyways I ended up wiring tone and volume to the concentric pot still, so the second is merely a dummy, since it still had the fishman chip connected to it I had no idea what to do with it.

However, I did something wrong, and now the pot works in reverse. Also when it is turned all the way up (which is now down) there is still SOME sound being picked up by...the pickups. Any idea where I went wrong?

Not sure exactly how you have this thing wired up but you should be able to take the wire going to the outside
lug of the pot and move it to the opposite side lug to reverse the pot. This may also fix your problem of it not
turning completely off when down.

If I were doing it I would:

1) Ditch all things Fishman/active (pickups, pots, boards, chips).
2) Get a new bridge pickup that will fit that bridge.
3) Get new, non concentric, pots.
4) Get a 5 way "Strat" switch.
5) Wire it up like you would a Strat.
6) Ruin your life playing the Devil's music.

Thanks MEC, I will try that.

Also the neckbridge pup is just a standard tele passive pup. The pieze was the saddles connected to a chip/pre amp glued to the bottom of the bridge which has no been removed.

The saddles however have to stay, I got more but they did not fit because the fishman requires offset screw holes on the back.

It also does currently have a 5 way strat switch.

Cool!
You should just disconnect the saddles, replace the pots with normal ones, and wire
it up Strat style with master tone and volume then. :thumb:
