Do you ever wear the band you're going to see's shirt? Is that weird to do? I mean it's showing support right? But now my hipster self's thought process is being all..."that's so weird Tyler, what are you some flakey butt sniffer?"

I don't know about shirts, but I too refer to myself as Tyler in my inner monologue despite my name being Michael

For fuck's sake. Wear a Misfits shirt. There always has to be a guy wearing a Misfits shirt.

i usually like to wear a shirt of a different band, ideally in a different genre, which is what folks used to do in the early/mid 70s when i first started going to concerts. back then it was a given that you were into the band whose show you were at, so folks would wear shirts of other bands as a way of signifying their other interests, and i always liked that. so nowadays i wear an MBV shirt to a JGB show, and a Boards of Canada shirt to see Brian Setzer.

The only time I'd wear a band's shirt at their own show is if I just bought the shirt at the show and would rather wear two than carry it. Although that typically isn't a problem as I try to avoid hitting the merch table until after the show unless my gf is with me, then my goodies go in her purse.

Whatever. I've worn painfully obvious merch from the headliners/so-on to many shows. No one gives a fuck, aside from the fascists who demand that you wear certain articles of clothing at certain times,

i'm always the oldest person there unless i'm seeing a dinosaur band anyway, so people look at me like a Martian no matter what i do. i couldn't have been more out of place at the MBV show if i'd worn a lovely frock and Mary Janes...actually, i'd probably have fit in better since it was in San Francisco.

Personally, I wear the shirt. I always picture being the headliner, and smiling knowing that I have fans wearing my shirts and seeing me live.

Fuck haters.
