When do your bars close?

Inspired by the hatey, ragey, etc. thread, I'm just curious when bars close in different states,, counties, regions, countries.

So where are you? and when do bars close (if at all)? and how late can you buy liquor?

I'm in Wisconsin. State laws say stores can sell until midnight but 99% of municipalities end it at 9 unless you get some special license or somethin'. Bars are open until 2:30am on Friday and Saturday and 2:00am the rest of the week.

Indiana, USA: bars stop serving at 3am every night. Alcohol sales until 3am in grocery stores (no cold beer available there), 2am in liquor stores (the only place you can buy cold beer). No alcohol sales on Sunday, but bars can still serve.

Mon-Sat booze can be sold at bars and restaurants from 8 AM to 3 AM. Sunday, 10 AM - 3 AM

Liquor/wine stores can be open on Mon-Sat 8 AM. - 11 PM. None on sundays.
Beer can be sold Mon-Sat 8 AM - Midnight. And 10 AM - Midnight on Sunday

Only beer can be purchased at grocery stores and such. No wine. Which pisses me off...

Finland:

Bars apply for licences to sell either mild alcoholic beverages OR they get to sell spirits in the boundaries of legal regulations.

Depending on license bars and restaurants CAN open at 5.00 am in the morning but selling alcoholic beverages is prohibited before 9.00 am. Closing time is at 2.00 am. If they have applied for an exception they can keep the place open until 4.00 the latest. The last calls are served 30 minutes before closing.

Basically, You can get wasted any day the bar keeper wants to keep his joint open... , close it just to clean the places up a bit.

Same here. Anything stronger is sold by ALKO, the governments own liquor store, holding the monopoly. The assortments can vary depending on the sized of the store but there's at least one almost EVERYWHERE.

In Boston, bars are open until 1 or 2am. You can buy liquor till I think 10pm Mon-Sat. I forget what Sunday's schedule is. I think they're open part of the day, and only liquor stores sell alcohol. There is one exception, a grocery store that has a wine section.

Where I'm originally from on Long Island, bars were open until 4am or so. Beer was available 24/7 at grocery stores, convenience stores, and gas stations. I don't know if that's typical in NY, but at least in my area on LI that was the norm.

It is so strange that Georgia suddenly seems more more liberal on alcohol sales than your two states.

Just last year, our state legislature voted to allow cities to decide if they wanted to allow Sunday alcohol sales. My city instantly put it on the ballot, and it passed 60-40. Sunday alcohol sales were to start on January 1. The city then decided to bump that date up by two weeks to December 15.

Bars here close at 3AM, but you're allowed to finish your beer on the way to your car. Savannah is one of a very small handful of cities in the US that allow open containers in public. We have very loose alcohol laws. You are allowed to drink in the public streets, parks, and pretty much anywhere you want, as long as your beverage is 1. in a plastic cup, and 2. less than 16 ounces.

Awww man... glad I live in Austria!
Bars close and open when they want to, but most close at around 2AM to 4AM, because that's the time the "early bird bars" open up... where you can continue your drinking. Alcohol is sold almost everywhere. Most grocery stores are closed on Sundays, but you can still buy your alcohol at some gas stations (they're a "special" kind of gas station where a grocery store is included and so you get booze 24/7). Also, alcohol is allowed from 16 years up in Austria. 16-18 years is beer and wine, 18+ is everything. You can drink everywhere you want, no regulations there. But if a cop finds you drunk like shit at 6AM in some fucked up park, he'll probably take you to the police station so you don't get raped/robbed. But no fees apply.

4am unless you get some kinda club after hours ordinance.
...but it's slowly shifting to 2am. Community boards in NYC have started withholding licenses for bars that don't agree to stop serving at at least 2am.

It's a clever/dirty trick.

Yeah, NYC is getting old and tired. I can't even think of any 24 hour places anymore...
