one of the few commentators anywhere on the political spectrum with a consistent moral compass. i didn't always agree with him, but i always respected him for that. RIP indeed.

I'm not wild on Dawkins, or any of the other evangelical atheists. I liked Hitchens because one always knew where he stood, and yet he still made every column, feature, or whatever worth reading.

good riddance. pompous bastard playing big fish in a little pond all the while advocating a pseudo-intellectual method of discourse and being lauded for it despite his horrifically sexist and anti-muslim views.
he had no courage or intellect. only ego and the desire to drive it through your skull unless you were smarter than him, in which case he simply disregarded you.
no one should be admired for being a magnificent bastard in the way that he and Jeremy Clarkson are. only laughed at and ridiculed until their reputation wallows in the mire it deserves.
