I found a pretty comprehensive thread with pics galore. Some of these are super cool while others are just ehhhh....

One thing's for sure, these fuckers are EXPEN$IVE!

the Bigsby Tele is nomulent; the tuxedo Jazzmaster is rather delicious, the early 60's dinette-set-looking one rather sillier. i like it, though, because it reminds me of the dining-room table my parents had when i was a child. the trend of the extraneous f-hole on everything continues to amuse and confound. that kitchen-sink Tele with the f-hole, the PAF, and the Tele neck PU in the middle would be one of the silliest production Fenders i've ever seen if it didn't have the White Partridge right above it.

I like the bound Teles and the matching headstocks on the JMs. It's those small details the appeal to me with Fender Japan. Agree the f-hole is getting out of control. That said, I love a good semi-hollow but I'm drawn to other brands for these types of things.

Considering they go for 2K and up, don't think it really matters what I like as I'd never drop that kinda bank on a MIJ Fender :idk:
I wish some of these models were released in the States (and not from the Cu$tom $hop) so I could at least give 'em a go.

Normally I'd agree about the f-hole thing getting out of hand, but that sunburst bound jag with the f-hole is pretty hot even though I know it's wrong somehow. All the teles are pretty boring really, but at least they're doing better than fender usa and actually trying new(ish) things.

Exactly my thoughts.

But the bindings on the jm's and jag just don't look right to me.

Dat sparkle.

Can someone explain, though, why these are so expensive?
Hand-made customs? Or...

Yeah. No thanks. I'll stick with the Classic Players for a third of the price and better quality.
