Okay, so there is probably an easy way to find this out, but I am absolutley internet dumb. Does anyone here know how much it would cost to get a small package (say a guitar pedal) shipped from Australia to the United States? A general estimate would be great if anyone has done this before or could find out easily. Any help would be awesome! :)

It is. Try Finland: small country + offering efficient postal services + taxation upholding the society = horrible prices.

I was sending recently a 120.USD something pedal to be fixed by the builder and wanted it there quickly and safely. The shipping I was offered at the counter for quick and safe delivery would have cost some 38.00€ (= 54.00$). The cheapest I was willingly offered, without insurance, was some 20.00€. And You know, when the pedal get's back to me, through the customs post office, I might actually have to pay the 22% VAT for the same pedal again. :wha?:

It's like Dr Mengele was working for the post offices and wanted Your gold teeth for shipping internationally.

:whateva: :idk: it's asymmetrical like good clipping. Because of the politics and shit like that, the shipping/delivery/insurance/VAT doesn't cost the same the other way, as I've learned. Your post office isn't the Australian one.
