So.. you're surfing on ilf on your phone/laptop I guess, while out shopping for cams... hmm.... awesome

maybe you should get something like the new canon cam or similar instead of a regular webcam.. or a really hd webcam..

there's Windows Live Movie Maker, which is free. very limited so you can't really get too creative with it.
I used to have Sony Vegas on an old computer, which I liked a lot. I've been thinking about buying it again.

Cheap PC video editing software
There's your problem. I'd suggest looking into something Linux based. Most Linux software is free and many software publishers will release the Linux version of their software for free while making the PC and mac users pay. If you don't want to switchto Linux entirely you can always double load the Linux shell program with windows.

thaaaaat.... is not a bad idea actually. i've not used Linux for a long while. be fun to have a partion to brush up on. innnnteressssting.
so, goofus at the store where i picked up some web cams was trying to tell me that most video editing software will record two streams at once, you just need to have a fast enough system with a crazy fast HDD or two HDD's. i'm not sure if i wanna use my laptop as my desktop or pick up a cheap pc... but does that sound right? i don't know a lot about working with video, but i'm pretty techy and pretty comp savvy, and general questions i was asking him he had.... interesting answers for.
freaking UPS MANGLED my desk that i was gonna setup today. gotta take a trip into SF to exchange it (only local GC that has one in stock), and it just bummed me out so much i didn't even fiddle with any stuff i meant to today. so i'll check out those progs y'all recommende tomorrow.
thanks!

lulz. yeah. i have all my software actually paid for right now. only progs i torrent is stuff to evaluate how much i like it, or cracks ti get rid of dongles. seriously. what year is it? fuck you Cubase for making it where i have to break the law if i don't wan to carry around a usb key.
oh yah. i also torrent a broken copy of something that i want in two places that i'll never use at the same time if the license won't let me install on multiple locations. fuck THAT. not paying twice if i'm not using them the same time.

You could set up a virtual Linux machine on your pc using VM-Ware.. but its only awesome if your pc is fast enough.. I'd recommend checking out their website first (just Google VMWare).. its free and pretty awesome.. I use it to run a Linux asterisk voip server on my Windows home/fileserver. Works excellent.. the VM gets its own ip address and you're all set.
