I 'do' actually like me some SRV, SON!
the first album is sick as shit, brah.
and even the second one is pretty ballin, homie.
but I hate all the worship shit he gets, bruh.
cause, like, I can't get on all that "OH SHIT HIS TONE WHISPERS INTO MY RECTUM LIKE A RIMJOB. FROM MY PASTOR.", dude
to be totally honest, I'm running out of, like, nickname style shit to call people, mom.

I kindof see Strats and Les Pauls as typically lame/clinical sounding guitars that have the potential to sound awesome. By that I don't mean if you change pickups or anything like that they're cool, I mean if you take off your stupid hat and stop playing stupid shit with them they're cool.
There's nothing more boring than the typical Strat sound and typical LP sound. For that I hate them. But when someone cool is playing them I really love them. Like that dude from Built to Spill with Strats. I dig them when I play them because I'm cool.

strats are actually the new, 'cool' guitar
look at all the hipster indie bands that use them these days
offsets and teles have become too cliche

Either way I like my offsets, chief.

Strats, . . . it's complicated. I like 'em stock in some respects. I wondered when I did them that way why people didn't appreciate the bridge pickup with no tone control -- that muther cut.
I do like that if you can find an off-brand import with the tone that they often have the swimming-pool route so you can easily cram interesting pickups in there in non-typical combos. Because bridge humbuckers with neck and middle strat pickups is just dumb.
Still don't dig the over-sensitive trem action.

Here you go Lovers... $6,800 here in Austin... You know I had to chime in... I love Strats and hate that SRV is their spokesman, you can't swing a dead cat in Austin without hitting some SRV nut... I hear younger kids sayin what the fine Officer was saying but if you think about it probably 75 + % of the music you've ever heard is played on a Strat or LP... They are what they are, I love my 2000 American Strat as much as my '08 Mexican Classic Player Jag... They are for different things... Anyway here's this on Austin Craigslist...

I like how strats sound, they're pretty cool guitars, I just prefer other things.

I'll end up owning a nice strat someday probably.

I don't like Strats because most everyone that picks one up starts playing SRV style blues and they think they rawk.
I don't like the way they feel to me, but I have one. Best neck I have ever played.
I have a Les Paul. deal with it

Strats are a fine guitar. As are LP's.I've had 2 actual strats and one Xaviere one. Never had a gripe about any of 'em. Also owned a Gibson LP studio back when. And then an Epi LP Standard and love teh thick slabs of sonic meat that the neck pup produced. "It ain't whacha do/it's the way how ya do it/And it ain't whacha eat/it's the way how ya chew it"-Little Richard. Yeah. 'cause it's like that.
