I owuld lay you odds that if you did that with any bunch of vintage muffs you'd get the same result -- none of them would be the same as any one picked at random.
I've peered inside quite a few in my time, and they're all different, using random parts with crappy tolerances that are 30+ years past their sell-by date anyway.

Interesting, his muff looks like a later one (mid 70s) to me -- I've only ever seen that yellow board on mid-late 70s muffs rather than the earliest (~74) Mike's Head Muffs.

I kinda wonder (hard to see in those blurry bigfoot pics) if the secret is that it's PNP instead of NPN.
I've had a few of those and they sounded obviously different from a regular Big Muff.

buy it, trace it, sell it, build it, build another one, sell clone, keep one, profit?

can you really feel bad cloning some builders top secret pedal that is really just a clone anyway?

FSB will do it. I've got a Cornish G-2 pcb to build in the meantime, so I'm good on modded Muffs until then.

the thread where they all chip in to buy one pedal and reverse/sell it hasn't been updated in a while. its a great idea. there are a lot of pedals I would pay %90 of the money to buy/trace/sell. but I feel like why should I take a %30 to %40 loss on buying a rare new pedal and selling it used just to donate a schematic when the cost can be evenly distributed amongst those who use the schematic and are willing (and not too poor) to donate

Id pay twice that for this package. This is all hand made and endorsed by J. I've been waiting for this pedal for 20 years. This isnt some feeble marketing attempt at selling crap. This is the real deal. To the idiot who said "hes just riding Jays (spelling) wave" ? Does they know what an endorsement is ? J asked Tym to make these. I can't wait to get mine.

and to all those people wanting to clone it and sell it cheaper ? Do you all not want these small boutique makers around doing this sort of thing ? Tyms blog is right. I dont get that attitude at all :(
