As a flaky bassplayer,I can say that it's probably because your riffs suck.

As a bassist... one that "practices"... first... TUNE THE DAMN THING RIGHT THE FIRST TIME! DON"T TUNE THEN TUNE THEN TUNE THEN TUNE IT'S ALL YOU PEOPLE DO I SWARE! I don't get it. I play bass, and I practice a lot. I sit down and practice for hours at a time. But every other bassist I have played with does not practice at all. Not on their own, and not with the band. That's why I think in my next band I'm going to play bass and get someone else to play guitar. That way all I need to worry about is the drummer.
