...FUCK THE WORLD FOR FORCING ANTHONY WIENER TO RESIGN. MO" FO' SHOULD'A JUST SAID, "YEAH, I'M A PLAYA AND SHIT. SO HOW BOUT IT? YOU WANT A SNAPSHOP OF MY JUNK, TOO? DON'T HATE THE PLAYA, HATE THE GAME!!!"
That dude was the shit. I propose a Wieners for Wiener's Wiener campaign to get Anthony Wiener reelected even possibly to the highest office. Think about it, Clinton got it wet, the economy expanded. Kennedy got mad poon, and he was cool and all. Teddy Roosevelt actually forced female felons to wear real Caribou horns on their heads while he "Hunted" them with a primitive paint-ball gun in the Bad Lands of South Dakota, and he was the the greatest president ever by far.

I agree. That shit pissed me off. Dude was my favourite. So many people have done so much worse and gotten to stay. Even his own party folded, when they could have destroyed the republicans for demanding he resign.
And a distraction? Really? Try and turn on the news to get... news. All they care about is sensationalism and controversy. As if they would have really been talking about the debt ceiling, the wars, etc.
I think even though he resigned, he can run in the special election. He'd probably win in his district still.
LESS ASSHOLES, MORE WEINERS!

Unfortunately, it's because there ARE social conservatives in the Democratic party. They're called blue dogs, and they got killed in last year's elections. So the dems are gonna bend over backwards to try to take back the southern districts they lost.

This stuff has always been happening and now we just have too much media coverage and stuff gets leaked and blows up.
I don't care at all what politicians do in their private lives, sending junk shots is a better alternative to the back alley deals most of them get from lobbyists.
It is great how appropriately named the dude is and that he is Married to one of Hilary's peeps. Hilary is probably telling her "let him chaise tail and some day you could be president"

you're just mad that someone on the Left got the treatment that you thought was reserved for people on the Right. live by the sword, die by the Weiner.

Mostly mad that this type of treatment exists at all left or right.
Franklin and Jefferson would have never survived the modern media age.

Not at all. I'm all for leveling the playing field, someone has to step up and call all those America hating reds for what they are, terrorists!

that was a use of the collective "you"; excuse me.
perhaps you're correct re: Franklin and Jefferson. contra, the mores of the Anglo-French aristocracy of the 18th century--Franklin and Jefferson's milieu--were rather different than the generally accepted moral standards of current America, which typically don't include married guys e-mailing dick pix to porn stars in Vegas.

I say it's a 50/50 that if they had e-mail...

The odd thing is that many people that hold to today's Moral American standard base it on the Idea that Franklin and Jefferson set up the country based on God's principles, when they themselves couldn't live to today's standards.
It's unfortunate that Vegas porn stars don't hold to the same standards of non-disclosure as Mistress Slaves.

the principles by which you organize an operation don't necessarily have anything to do with how you live your life. for example, anarchists run business collectives which have set hours of operations and wage rates. Mormons run grocery stores that sell beer.

The right tends to run on family values platforms. They support things like abstinence-only sex education. They run on their moral superiority. It literally is different for them. John Edwards ran similarly, and he got what he deserved for it. Newt Gingrich did almost exactly what John Edwards did, though... and nobody talks about. Also, Eliot Spitzer bought prostitutes and was forced to resign as Governor of NY. David Vitter bought prostitutes... and he's still a senator. Mark Sanford actually ditched his job-- evading even his security-- to have an affair in Argentina, and he's still in office.
It's just not accurate to pretend the left just gets away with it and the right doesn't.
Personally, I don't think infidelity has anything to do with their ability to do their job, but if you're running on moral superiority it does bring your sincerity into question.

Understood, applied to this issue it would seem that Wiener should have kept his job.
I like associating America with an operation or business, perhaps part of the issue is that too many people associate america with an Ideal of some type.

Why would they? The point of porn stars if to put it out there for everyone to see... It doesn't take a lot of brain power to figure out that if you want to do that type of thing that someone who's job is to put out putt'n it out might not be the best subject for your actions if you don't want them known...

I'm mad that anyone gets that treatment at all. Who gives a shit if you're diddling the maid? Or tweeting pictures of your dick to co-eds? Does that affect your ability to do your damn job? And you're acting as if no Dems have ever had their career ruined by a sexual misdeed. Ever hear of John Edwards? And thirdly, when a So-Con does it, it IS worse, because it's also extremely hypocritical.
