Do your local stores carry the Japanese ones?

Craigslist. Yesterday. First one I had ever seen on there.

You can buy direct from a couple places in Japan but they're EXPENSIVE shipped to the States!

I got my leftie Mustang from Ishibashi, email them and they can quote you and sort you out. If memory serves it's not exactly cheap though, prob $800-$1000.

They quoted me $1200 for a JM shipped last year. At those prices, may as well grab an AVRI. Current pricing may be better

Exchange rates suck arse. Before I started to go here regularly and created a habit of buying effect pedals i couldn't care less. But it really is something you have to factor in. I don't know really, but I guess the Yen is probably not doing so well compared to the Dollar, which seems to be doing alright compared to a year or so ago. It will probably be somewhat cheaper now than it was a year ago with the us economy slowly getting on it's feet again and Fukushima and all that.

Ah, difference is I'm from Aus, our exchange rate isn't too bad at the present time! Those mustangs look tempting...purrrr.

yeah, well... we have CPs for apporoximately 1200$ here, so... it's usually cheaper to get a MIJ one

In Germany they also do not pop up often... but the one, that is now green, i snagged from ebay for a very good price (650 EUR with hard case). So it is possible! Just take your time and look for it (instead investing in fuzz pedals )

That's good advice. You can pick up the Mascis JM for a very fair price used. Like a standard JM with jumbo frets, TOM, and lack of rhythm/upper bout controls. Purple sparkle may not jive with everyone but refinish is an option. Seek out pics of Univalve's green sparkle burst, turned out lovely!!
