People are always looking for "good tone". I understand using the word to describe a type of sound, like a jazz tone or whateverthefuck. Or like "how do I get a solid rock tone?" Yeah I get that, even though it still bugs me.

But when people say "OH MAN THAT GUITAR/AMP/PEDAL/FRET WIRE/OUTPUT JACK HAS TONE!!....

FUCK YOU.

Everything has some sort of tone you dipshit, weather it's fucking church bells or the sound of me dropping a television on your head from a 4th story balcony. WHY CAN'T YOU JUST SAY "WOW THAT SOUNDS GOOD"?!

Just so ya'll know, this is the result of me having to listen to a half-wit toolbag poser guitar player spew and babble fountains of crap all day. I intentionally refrain from calling him a musician.

I love all of you so much.

FUN FACT TO CHEER U UP: Keith Richards has a speedboat he bought in 1971 while living on the French Riviera and recording Exile on Main Street. He named the boat Mandrax, an anagram of its original name, saying: "It was irresistible to call it that.

Tone is a sound you like. Shitty tone is one you don't. All is subjective, all is personal, all is whateverness.

Those fragile upper harmonics...the bluesy sound that gives suburban road warriors boners...the weight of your body so crushing your legs cannot possibly support it without the addition of hydraulics...

This can only be the TOAN OF A DAMBL

(So did Miles though.)
Miles wrote:I've practiced my tone for almost 50 years, and if I can't hear my tone, I can't play. If I can't play, then I won't get paid. If I don't get paid, then I lose the house, you know?
It's like a chain reaction. If I lose my tone, I can't fuck, can't make love, can't do nothin'. I'll just walk into the ocean and die, if I lose my tone.
