so i play keys and weirdly enough one of my most used pedals is a modified rangermaster that i built years ago.
i know it's a circuit that has been done to death, but i really like it and i'm thinking about maybe making a couple - would anyone be interested?
the main modifications i made were pretty simple:
*input attenuation for hitting it with hotter signals (ie. keyboards)
*wide range tone control PRE amplification - sort of like the switches everyone adds for treble, mid or full range boost.
i'll make it using NPN germanium so you can use it on a daisy chain. it'd be reasonably cheap and look cool. anyways, really just thinking out loud - nothing serious yet.

Yes!! I've heard that based on how hot the signal is... And with the tone control you can get good MOSFET clean boost sounds. Do you know if that's correct? I've been really needing a good clean boost as an always on pedal.
Color me interested!!

yeah the input attenuation basically acts as a gain control and the tone control is super useful!

Yeah, I've been looking for one that is germ, sounds good, isn't $300 and doesn't have a 6 month waiting list

I say try a small batch?

It'd be cool to see some extra options you could choose to add on to it. Like maybe a fuzz switch to up the gain or add an extra tranny in there (ala fuzz face), or a blend knob between the germanium and a MOSFET (if that would even do anything to the sound), maybe a sag knob (for a light fuzzy/ soft sound).
Not sure if those would even be feasible or worthy mods. I'm down for a straight "relatively cheap" standard one though.

Yup. I have a vague interest in treble boosters, but the price has always kept me away. And, another SS/BS creation is also something I'm interested in.
Also, there have now been two (2) threads recently on treble boosters over in the gear forum, so, I think there's a bit of interest from ILF'rs.

Interested, of course.
Might have to sell myself to strange men for money, but I'll figure it out.

If is a crazy booster, I'd be interested

Something to add some texture to your amp OD... like a velcro texture or dirt noise booster.
Hazelwould have some great idea there too!!

Are you talking like switchable diode clipping to add dirt?
My BYOC triboost in germ treble boost mode does get dirty when really cranked, but you get germanium noisiness in the circuit before that. Sometimes radio signals
