Metroid Prime 2: Worst Bosses EVER

GODDAMN IT.
Ruined my fucking afternoon. Metroid Prime 2: Echoes has the worst fucking bosses of any video game ever. They aren't fun to fight, and the methods you need to use to kill them are so goddamned tedious. Metroid Prime itself is a fantastic game... great weapons, bosses, adventures, etc. Echoes is just tedious. The Screw Attack DOESN'T WORK in 3D/first person, Light/Dark Beam ammo is a GAAAAAAY idea, and the bosses are just shit.
Bad job, Retro.
I'll play Corruption, but I'm done with Echoes. POOR POOR POOR hit detection on the final boss. And bullshit damage when I'm nowhere near it.
Bullshit.

Dear Retro,
The final boss in Metroid Prime 2: Echoes is the most poorly designed fucking final boss in the history of video games. It doesn't matter if you have skill, or have followed the rules of the entire game before reaching the final boss... it just doesn't matter. The design is so fucking poor that I have fought against it five times without noticing anything that could be considered logic. It's a cascade of seemingly random events fighting this final boss, and besides it being tedious, dull, and monotonous, there is absolutely no joy AT ALL achieved out of having anything to do with finishing this game. It is just bad. It's bad fucking news. It's almost as if you are trying to reward... well, not reward... but punish me for playing through this entire game, hoping that I would be met with some sort of fun challenge at the end. No, I do not expect my final bosses to be easy to defeat, but this has nothing to do with difficulty. This is just poor design... poor poor poor fucking design. It's just nothing... it's a nothing boss, and I hope to defeat it as soon as possible so I can forget that I ever had to fucking go up against it and what a waste of time this game has been. POOR DESIGN.

Sounds like it's the most realistic video game ever. What is life other than a series of seemingly random disappointments and a never ending search for some kind of nonexistent satisfaction?

Clearly you have never fought Lu Bu.
Or should I say...PURSUED Lu Bu.
(hint: don't pursue Lu Bu)

Metroid isn't fun to me anymore. NES yes, but GC no.

On the bright side, Prime and Prime 3 are fucking rad as hell.

True... Prime 1 is ggggrreeeeaaaaatttt. I've played through it 4 or 5 times... even beat it on "Hyper Mode".
Echoes just wasn't put together very well. I never felt super badass. Like in Metroid Prime you'll get a certain power up and feel totally supreme. Echoes didn't really have anything that cool to add to your arsenal.
Good to hear that 3 is dope. Is it common knowledge that Echoes isn't very good? IGN gave it a 9.5... I'm not one to be like "NO WAY HYPED JUMPED THE SHARK" etc., but Echoes is not a 9.5 game.
I've got the three-pak Metroid Prime Trilogy with the "enhanced" Wii functionality... Echoes didn't convert very well. I think I'll sell the Trilogy and make a few bucks (since it's discontinued) and pick up Corruption on the cheapo.
Peace.

This is confusing to me...
Prime 3 sucked cocks
2 and 1 are the tits
2's bosses were better than 1's

I liked 2; then again I played it before I played the first. I agree about the final boss, I have yet to beat it.

I haven't played 3 yet. Gonna wait a while. I played Prime 1 on Gamecube when it first came out... I beat it on Normal mode and liked it so much that I immediately went through it again on Hard mode. It's got a really good balance of combat and exploration. The Chozo were cool dudes, too.
I liked 2, it just got kinda tedious as I said. The Luminoth were dorks, and I didn't dig their story. They used to just live among the stars or something, but they found Aether which they described as a paradise, then built all this technological shit on it... these big dumb refrigerators that harnessed all of Aether's energy. And then the Ing came along and wanted a piece of it too... so the Luminoth fought off the Ing, who had as much claim on Aether as the Luminoth did. And now I as Samus have been coerced by the Luminoth into doing their dirty work to destroy the Ing who have as much right to life as the Luminoth do.
At least in Prime 1, the Space Pirates were murderous imperialists who were conducting weird experiments on themselves and Metroids in order to gain more power so that they could destroy the rest of the galaxy. They were a bit of a Nazi analogue; the Luminoth and Ing were just two petty races that didn't seem to care about anyone/anything but themselves.
I'm sorry that I got involved (as Samus).
As far as the bosses, I found Prime's to be much better than Echoes', if only for the design. In Prime, the bosses were challenging AND ALSO had clear cut means of defeat... the strategies were clear. Echoes' bosses were just big, dumb, and ugly, and their sheer mass took precedence over any sort of fun or interesting strategy needed to destroy them.
Plus when you got some sort of power-up in Prime, it was used cleverly throughout the game... in Echoes, you'd get something like the Sound Visor and use it maybe three times for the rest of the game. They had the right idea with having like "Dark" versions of a lot of the enemies, but that usually meant just turning them purple and giving them endless hit points.
Echoes just isn't as a clever.
Here's hoping Corruption improves on both.

Prime 3 pissed me off with the Wii remote thing. I don't want to have to move more than my thumbs; if I wanted exercise I would go outside

Motion controls are just an awkward gimmick.
like this 3d craze

and gimmicky stuff like motion and 3d are just attempts to appear innovative without actually creating decent games (other than rehashed/updated versions of older titles to take advantage of the gimmick)
