Jucifer was almost nauseatingly heavy when I saw them last. Still hard to believe that mountain of sound came from a 2 piece, although Amber had a backline of amps/cabs like nothing I'd ever seen.

They definitely get my vote. The Wall of Amber is brutal.

I saw High On Fire before the first record came out. Everyone gathered around the stage at a bar with maybe 100 capacity. Matt Pike had his gear loud during the soundcheck, but as soon as they gave the cue to start, he cranked it ten times louder. I swear I floated backwards 30 feet. It was uh-maz-ing. My ears have yet to recover.

They don't sound like it on album but This Will Destroy You is really heavy live. I've seen them twice and I think the first time I saw them was the heaviest show ever. Number two would be Isis probably. After that maybe Between the Buried and Me, or Gojira, or Opeth. I don't know. Torche was really heavy but they sound a lot brighter so it comes off as less heavy - if that makes any sense.

Live? Either High On Fire or Melvins.

On an album? Bongripper
