talk about others' criticisms of you

pretty much every friend i've ever had thinks i'm an asshole and can't process people's emotions. one friend referred to it as "suburban white male autism" once.
my girlfriend has accepted the fact that i'm a selfish dickhead, and i guess just tries to deal with it.
my dad is constantly giving me shit, in my mind completely unnecessarily, about how he doesn't think i work hard enough. i don't really try at anything, so he has a point, but he's constantly on my ass about something and i attribute it to this.
my girlfriend legitimately thinks i'm a sociopath lol forever

The main criticism I get is that I'm "weird". When I ask what that's supposed to mean I never get a definitive answer, so I assume it's their problem. Fuck 'em.

I get a lot of eye rolls about my passions.
Nobody I know gets the gear fetish. They're either locked into lame homo cover bands or so good they make a DS-1 through a solid state sound good.
Fortunately my wife "kinda" gets it.

I guess I should have said, being from THE SOUTH, it shouldn't be so tough.

My relatives think I'm pretty worthless because I haven't finished college yet. I probably never will. I'm definitely the underachiever in my family.

"It's like you have aspergers, but it works for you."
I have no idea how to take that.
