How do I file a counter-notification?If you believe your content was misidentified as infringing, you may file a counter-notification. If you did not have all of the rights to post the material at issue, you MUST NOT submit a counter-notification. Under Section 512(f) of the Copyright Act, any person who knowingly materially misrepresents that material or activity was removed or disabled by mistake or misidentification may be liable for damages.

Go with fax or postal mail. Chances are they get less of those.

before you contact YouTube, go through the images used in the videos one by one; each image under copyright used without permission counts as an infringement. that's probably where your problem lies. i believe i recognized at least one photo in the first four minutes of the first video.
edit: yes, that's definitely your problem. all those news photographs are under copyright, e.g. the Susan Atkins photo is copyright of AP, UPI, the LA Times, or some other contemporaneous news organization circa 1969-70. to use any of those images you need the permission of the copyright holder; typically those old news shots are licensed through Getty or a similar concern. you have no recourse, and no way around it.

call them and sound angry. ask to speak with everyone's superior. then ask that superior what they are wearing. once you get their defenses down they'll have to return your videos.
