and need to work out what i need to pass
so the first exam i took is out of 40% of the overall
the final exam is out of 60%
the first exam i took had 60 marks and i got 23 right

wait, is the second exam out of 80 points, then? if so you need 61 to get 60% in the class.

I love how you set that up like a typical math question

Assuming that a 60 is a passing grade in your class, here you go:
.4*(23/60)+.6x=.6
Solve for x.
Okay, I'll do it for you. x=.74444 So that means you need to get at least 74.4% of the answers correct to pass the class. Good luck!
