thread title was
"HSS Strat rip out the tone pots??"
and the gentleman proceeds to ask...
"I was thinking of taking out the tone pots, I am running a single rec into a marshal 1960a, guitar has a tone zone, and I am putting in cts pots this weekend. Will leaving out the tone pots make for "better" tone or just brighter?"

The one I will always remember is how someone fervently refused to put a single sticker on any of his guitars because it would kill the instrument's sustain. That's a little

for me, personally I don't believe a sticker is going to do much after the thick coat of poly on your guitar...but whatever. Anyway this guy wrote up HUGE POSTS about this subject...not sustain in general, but gigantic blocks of text concerning stickers' effect on sustain. It was crazy how far this guy took it, and he was dead serious.
edit: I forgot about this. Saw this once after logging in and it's basically Talkbass in a nutshell on most days:

If that's the worst of forums there is still a lot of hope for e-humanity.
Or maybe I'm just a nerd because I understood the quandary, and find it a perfectly valid question.
One that I would never ask, but still.

Yup TGF is pretty much dead to me.
Not half as bad as TGP, HC, TB, UG and their ilk
This place however has been incredibly enjoyable for the past 2 months. Props to you lot
