Can you tell me a little bit about Portland? I might be going there to open an ebike store and am wondering if there are many around... I know that Portland is the most bicycle-friendly city in the country and I know the actual laws regarding them in the state of Oregon but I'm wondering how popular they might be and if it'd be worth the investment (even though it won't be MY money). If all goes well, I'll be coming there to start the store, hiring some folks to run it and then going to Florida and maybe Chicago, IL to try to open one there. We've already got one opening up in Berklee, CA in a couple weeks.
Any info you could give would be mad helpful.

Brother, if these stores work out, I'd love to hire you... We can record music when the store's closed. That's what I do here in Toronto.
I'm not running the Cali store or I'd hire you there, as it's closer to home for you.

There are as many bike stores in portland as there are strip clubs. If you opened one here you would have a lot of competitors, portland is a fairly small city, compared to most places.
When you see what you would pay in property taxes and business taxes you may shit yourself.

We'll be selling Ebikes and scooters, like Electric, power-assisted bike and scooters imported from China, dig? Do you see many of those around?
You think taxes in Portland are more than in Cali? That would blow my mind... It seemed like the kind of place that wouldn't be
that expensive to run a business.

There are a couple of scooter stores and e bike shops as well. I know of 4 or 5 with in a 20 mile radius of each other.
The city politics here suck, nothing but a bunch of stupid self serving fucks. I am the son of a local business owner and I have worked most of my adult life along side him. The shit my dad puts up with is mind boggling, if the city wants something they just just give you fan service and do something else.
We have property tax and high income taxes it takes a hunk out of your ass every year/ month, income taxes are the reason why people live in Washington and commute to Oregon.
I really don't think the weather here is good for scooters but then again I drive for a living and a scooter would do dick for me.
I love to hate it here but the end of the day it is where I belong. You might want to get other peoples opinion's but I have had nothing but negative things to say about city politics and how they treat small businesses.

they all ride track bikes, theres more strip clubs per capita in portland than any other city in the us. A famous transgendered fuzz pedal maker lives in portland. Oregon doesnt charge sales tax so thats kinda nice too. Glass Candy is from portland. thats what happens in portland.

I would totally move to Portland to work at an elbandito shop.
This is assuming that there is a church close by, so that I might worship and pick up loose women.

I used to live outside of Portland. I liked it, but I was only there for a year.

ILF is back finally.
I'm leaving for Portland in a little under four hours. What do? (While I'm there.)
