...that we maxed out our user log on limit and I got this message:

SQL ERROR [ mysql4 ]
User ilovefuz_forum2 already has more than 'max_user_connections' active connections [1203]
An sql error occurred while fetching this page. Please contact an administrator if this problem persists.

That error came up before I started updating the forum...don't know if we really had that many people. Couldn't be, right?
Next chance I get, I'll work on updating the forum again. Didn't go well last night.

It's more a generalised lock on the database due to php scripts hanging with memory overruns.
One way round it is to increase the amount of RAM to the forum.
-Add file public_html/forum/php.ini (if it doesn't already exist) with the contents:
memory_limit=96M
And see if that helps.
