DIY Rules

1) No cloning of small builders' in-production pedals.
Don't read too far into that, look for caveats, or question what constitutes "small builder." Generally, we're asking that people not discuss cloning or deconstructing in-production, non-mass-market designs...unless the builder in question personally posts the info. While ILF does not have an official position on the cloning/ethics debate, this is not a cloning forum or a "deconstruct everything" forum. We don't want the debates, or to put any small builders at a disadvantage.
2) No discussion on the ethics of cloning, regardless of your position...if only for the fact that it's annoying.
Okay, this isn't really a rule. But it's a never-ending debate, with good points on both sides. Rule 1 is just begging for an annoying debate. Hence, Rule 2.
3) Do not abuse the DIY forum by using it to spam your wares. Got a business? Sig it. Don't start spam threads. Do NOT post your "DIY" projects if you have a pedal business in your sig (unless the DIY project is unrelated to your business and/or not going into production)...if you offer a service, no problem. They can be helpful in the DIY forum. This is only to prevent people from intentionally spamming the DIY board.
So what is this DIY forum for? Pretty much exactly what it has been! Learning, modding, repairing, etc.
ILF is highly unmoderated, and has worked well as a self-policing, just-don't-be-a-dick forum. That continues. So these rules don't change anything (except for the spam rule!), and are mainly for reference.
