Spinal tap point of view: pedal enclosures

It would seem to me that pedal enclosures made of tone woods would resonate better. This would create greater sustain and sound much better than metals!
So if you where to enclose your muff in walnut or basswood, then attach it to a wooden pedalboard you would get much better results.
In a real desparate situation you could even screw your pedal board to the stage for the ultimate room shaker.

PS: Stay tuned for Mohawkharry hooks up his Fuzzhugger Great wall to a 12v car battery.

Who remembers that TGP thread someone posted here about your strap affecting your tone/sustain?

It's almost as bad as people saying blue LED's make a pedal sound better than red.

Oh man, the first time I read that I just about died. In fact I think the quote in my sig is from your thread. It robs me of any hope I had left for humanity when I hear "musicians" talk about stuff like that.

I heard metal enclosures scoop your mids.

Red LEDs have a scooped, heavy sound, similar to tones of 70's bands like Black Sabbath.
Blues are a bit more honky and mid-boosted, like a good P90 pickup.
Green LEDs have a glassy, crystal-clear high end that sound great with vintage Fenders.
And purple ones are the most dynamic and responsive to your picking technique.

Oh, I didn't post it, I was just fondly recalling that amazing thread of pure failure. I only run into folks that are like that, or dudes that think their Marshall MG half-stack is the shit. Also, all my pedals have blue LEDs. For the toanz, dude, for the toanz.

Word. It was indeed pure failure. In fact, I'm kind of embarrassed to play the same instrument as those kinds of dudes.
