OoT, MM and TP were so much darker than this it's not even comparable. WW was cheesy but had elements to make up for that, the entire game is on a freakin boat man, this? this is a gimmick. a gay gay gay gimmick.

It does look pretty lame...nintendo needs to stop with the kiddie shit.

I'll take the portable Zelda titles over any console one any day, especially now that OoT is being redone for the 3DS.

Well, the control wonkiness was caused by massive IR interference with all the devices in the audience. (That amount of nerds with that amount of IR-emitting devices? )...So concerns about motion working correctly are pretty much not a concern. IGN says the 1:1 motion in the demo works. If Nintendo gets anything right, it'll be motion.

BUT yeah...WTF is up with this? Twilight Princess was incredible imo. This looks like a step back. I even liked the Wind Waker style graphics. But the "style" here...the colors look off, looks like they couldn't commit to either realistic or cel-shaded, so they went with a generic/amaturish semi-cartoonish style--the color palate (and the ugly sprite-based trees) look like it should be on DS or N64!
If they're going for a colorful painted look, but they've got a long way to go.

Here's what gives me hope:
--Nintendo has a great track-record for Zelda and Mario games.
--This isn't coming out til 2011. They've got tons of time!

I think this looks ok, but Miyamoto said that if they'd used the same graphic style as the Twilight Princess the game would be out now. It kind of sucks that they had to spend all this extra time just for this rather mediocre style

I'm kind of okay with the art-style. It may not be as edgy as TP, as fun as the cel-shaded Wind Waker, or as classic as OoT and Majora's Mask, but I think that many will fall for the semi-impressionist style. Considering they have a year to polish the graphics, I doubt there will be much of a problem. I just have a feeling that people will tire of the 1-to-1 sword mechanic really fast.

Also, they already perfected Zelda back in 1993, and she wasn't even in the damn game.
