I try not to talk down too much about Christianity (or any religion, for that matter) because some of the best people I've met and some of my best friends are Christian, but honestly... so are the all of the worst people I've met. In school I was always taught that the US should be a Christian nation... Uganda is a pretty good example of why Christian nations are no different than any other theocracy. (Uganda isn't technically a theocracy, but that's just because they rely so much of foreign aid)

Two things: 1. These idiots are funded by American evangelicals -- these repressed idiots). Rick Warren only cut ties with them once the publicity over the proposed death penalty for homosexuals legislation (Death penalty FFS! It's already illegal BTW) became too big to ignore (not while it was on the cards, just once it was being talked about widely, and even then it took him a while.
