I've always thought it was kind of overrated as a phaser, but cool as a panner/pseudo trem. Never owned one though.

I think it'd probably be fine for someone who wasn't familiar with the original.

I agree, rather limited as a phaser (although, the original does sound good). The panner/trem definitely puts it over the top.
