That Ape Blaster demo was pretty cool. Definitely gonna have to pick up one of these down the road when I'm not broke. Also, last night I finished mixing one of the songs that i posted a video for a few days ago. Can't wait for you guys to hear it.

Dude, 'Im kinda jealous. Where was the rest of the rig?
the wife was talking about doing an ultramarathon in your state a while back and I told her to go for it thinking I could pop by your place and jam a bit.

Ya know its kinda funny, you got brought up at practice tonight too and we decided you need to move up here with all your stuff. :hello:

I should add, Band perks tonight included steak, mexican rice with beans and pulled pork and beers. Just sayin...

Oh you just crank that to reinvigorate your boner for Russ's guitar :animal:

emptyparadigm wrote:Also, got to see them awesome dudes in Lord Dying lay it down last night. GO SEE THEM ON THIS TOUR. They're meeting up with Howl next week for a trek and then going back out with Ramming Speed and Valient Thorr in the late summer. So pumped to see things getting big for those dudes.

I cannot wait to be a part of this. Still never heard Ramming Speed but Valient Thorr is pretty sweet and Lord Dying is f'n GREAT

louderthangod wrote:Your results may vary but I but I was not terribly impressed with the Soldano GTO so if he's going to reissue them then I hope they get better. The lowend was loose and it really wasn't that high gain.

Best served with bass guitar, for sure.

AxAxSxS wrote:Big thanks to D and the AW guys for coming out. Always cool to see you guys.

That was a killer set! I really love you guys' sense of melody. Amongst many other things, not least of which is the big fuckin TONE. Infinite Flux really rules. You're my favorite 'Tacoma band' already! Having Ryder join up was a major coup. That dude's the Secret Weapon :0)

t-rey wrote: Does Travis turn his kit sideways in Weedeater too? Shep does have awesome toanz. And those really are teh secrets of toanz.

He does do that and it rules. Lends some extra stage presence to an already dynamic dude. Those are certainly my tone secrets. I love to see how other people work it but I have basically never had worthwhile results from stacking two dirt pedals ever. The closest was a Big Muff and Naga Viper together but even that sounded a little choked I guess?

ridingeternity wrote:We have leased a 700 square foot warehouse with the goal of becoming a non-profit. All the dudes involved are the types that go to shows all year long and just want to make sure bands have a legit spot to play in SLO rather than have to pass through and lose out on gas money. Anything helps, and even if you can't donate...sharing around would be much appreciated!

Also we are open for booking, so hit me up if you want to play here and I will be able to let you know by the Sunday of that week (We have a board of volunteers who donate time that get to vote on the shows, anyone is able to volunteer...but fortunately enough for now those that are getting off their butts are my friends so you will pretty much be booked no doubt)

This is radical! I sure hope Steve's been trying to put something together with you for our little excursion in October.

Ancient Astronaught wrote:In other news according to UPS my Verellen is due in today and I've got the night free. :yay: But no pedalboard at the house :picard: Guess I'll have to get truly intimate with it and see what its capable of. Be prepared for some new full tri amp rig pics next week.

True story: I almost snuck an ABF demo unit into your Verellen box.

Now I'm not saying grown ups can't make up their own mind about chorus but it's a bit of a funny proposition around here. People are very very very self conscious about their possibly sounding remotely 'grunge'. That's like a dirty word around here now. You especially don't EVER want to sound like Nirvana. So chorus is just plain O-U-T out. Which is retarded as fuck. Music is art and art should be free. I mean having freedom, not no monetary value. So anyhow, I recently received the entire line of Mr Black pedals. The ones I was specifically after were AMAZING. But the secret sleeper of the whole deal was that Double Chorus. It's great fun and sounds real good. So my buddy who is one of the self conscious, deathly afraid to be viewed as unhip by the local hipster intelligentsia type hipsters, says on the phone that he wants to try 'em all out. Especially the phaser (which is just fucking filthy btw). I tell him that yeah the phaser is fucking sweet but the real hidden gem is that chorus... dead air. Then we go up to my practice space and as he's hooking up I reiterate how nice the chorus is. He again says nothing. So he spends the next hour diligently playing all these pedals. Except the chorus. Wouldn't even touch the chorus. I'm 100% certain that chorus is just not allowed in his mind and I'm 100% certain that 90s Grunge Fear Syndrome is to blame. That is fucking sad. Trying to specifically avoid a thing is almost exactly the same level of cliche as trying to specifically copycat a thing.

Anyways, here's some videos. The first one is the main thing I originally wanted from Mr Black.

Thank you so much for posting this John! And Parker thank you too. I see you out there evangelizing my wares and it means alot. I'm at the beginning of all this entrepreneurial shit and I need all the help I can get. And thanks to all the rest of you dudes for saying the good words about my Ape Blaster. Hopefully it's all onward and upward from here. Also, Popedude I see have a PM from you. I'm on it as soon as I finish this behemoth multi quoter here.

Seems like a good idea to me! Pawn shops are pretty weak around here though.

The Helms recording schedule kinda put a damper on our evil plans I think.
I'm still planning on sending the stickers and stuff, just keep getting hung up on other things. We should get together and ship off a box of awesome ;)

Yeah Ryders awesome! I was actually having serious tonal issues at that show. Still on the learning curve as far as finding new and interesting ways for gear to go wrong  Turns out only the amp that was directly behind me was hooked up to the wrong out so the other two sounded ok. All I heard for the whole set was angry bee tone.

I'd be hypeing this thing even if I didn't know you. It's easy to get behind something when it really is that good.

You know just how to sweet talk me John

Yeah Skip it almost happened. And honestly for me it easily could have regardless of Helms' schedule as I'm a five minute drive from the Big V. But I'd never be that guy to just walk in to a builder's shop out of the blue and be like "hay let me put my product in your box there". I just wouldn't do it. But bundled in with a Doom Room Friendship Pak, that's different. I was bummed because I knew you'd have gotten a kick out of it.

Thanks guys  I can honestly say that the nicest people I've met online have all been from Seattle (aside from a few strays here and there), and its definitely home to some of my favorite bands I've found this year. My girlfriend really wants to move the PNW, and I'm torn between Portland and Seattle.

One day I will get to try an ABF. One day....
