Sounds good...the drummer is excellent!

gunslinger_burrito wrote:Rough track. Needs polishing in the writing and the production. Constructive critiques welcome. Oh, and the Only distortion used is a Dwarfcraft Hair of the Dog.

Very interesting. I like the guitar tone a lot...the textures are very enjoyable.

I'd like to have a female vocalist come in at some point in the song I think - like 3/4 of the way through. Maybe some minimalist percussive elements also.

Nice somber piece. I could definitely see some female vocals fitting right in.

Do you know the feeling when you have a show coming up but there is barely enough finished songs for 40 minutes? And then you start looking for easy covers and the singer dude comes up with this song noone else knows but that turns out perfect right on the first take? This especially awesome when I am the singer and have wanted to cover this for 25 years or so. :animal:

Another new song to go with the last one I posted a couple days ago.

[soundcloud]http://soundcloud.com/jfrey/held-quiescent-by-winter[/soundcloud]

It's like an interlude track by the way.

Just updated this track, so listen again, or if you haven't already, listen now.

Here's a preview of a song I'm working on. It's a cover in an entirely different style than the original. I'm going for a sparse, ambient theme with not too much instrumentation. Definite work in progress:

[soundcloud]http://soundcloud.com/eagle-eyed-tiger/4-minutes-of-warning-snippet[/soundcloud]

Chain: Whammy 5 (octave down harmony) > Dispatch Master (lots o' reverb, no delay) > The Elements (clean boost) > Timeline (boost + super clean, sample-esque delays) > OP-1 (to record)

The intro is some synth with reverb and delay.

Great sounds! What is the song you're covering?

Threw this together on my Maschine earlier tonight, might add some drones and more noise to it. Right now it's just kind of a loop :idk:

Not sure if this is any good. Should I keep working on it or toss it?

Yes! Keep the same riff going but with frenetic Mastodon style drumming :animal:
And some Tom Waits vox.
