For sure man! it's like walking on eggshells...

There's the fact that you would want them to have it, but then there's the fact that you don't feel right giving it to them for the price you want to get, and if you're only selling it for a certain price to get something else, you NEED to sell it for that price... I hate that situation! haha.

Thanks buddy!!! It's actually really really nice tonally, its heavily restricted as far as its tones on its own but it takes pedals amazingly, and is surprisingly loud for such a low wattage. Clips will be coming in the next few weeks.

Can I just say something strange? That camera distortion, that's fucking awesome. It's Doom through and through. Normally I can't stand the sound of a microphone that's clipping, but it just worked in that situation.

Also, you're built like a fucking brick shit house.

There is so much low end between all of us and the bass is mixed a little heavy too. That ritual sounds so good with it though. I guess it just dominated that mic and cut most of the highs out. It sounds good in the room although I went home partially deaf.

I guess my brick shit house-ness comes from lifting patients all day long some of em are fucking huge so it gives you a good workout.

Ok, I haven't had time for a catch-up post in a while, but I've been lurking. I think we were talking about valve pres in pedal format last time? While expensive, I like the idea of them as big old, obscure brand, clean tube heads are relatively cheap and even buying an awesome preamp (I just prefer valve distortion, I'm pretty sure we've had this discsussion in the past, I'm aware it's one of those potentially psychosomatic things) can work out cheaper than getting the full kit and kaboodle in oz. Especially if they can be obtained second hand.
That was my 2c on that.
So, to catch up...

Dude, that sucks. And what the fuck!? They just didn't tell you that you had lymes? They just forgot to mention it?! Man, I'd be so fucking angry. That's just me.
I found a tick on my neck the other week, it was only tiny, so I guess it hadn't been there long. Still freaked me out when I pulled it off, I couldn't tell if the head came with it. I kinda still have a spot on my neck...but seriously man, I hope you're doing ok.

They're going to give her a few IV's of fluid and then run a pee test to make sure everythings kosher. What a weekend.... I'll have to catch up later when I'm not on my phone, unless someone wants to fill me in. ;)

This also sucks. I hope your missus is alright.

So the $200 ric copy came today. All the hardware is crap but the actual guitar seems well made, neck is straight if little beefy and it plays real nice. I had anticipated the tuners being crap and had gotten some locking grovers to put on. With those and some new strings its keeping in tune even with the bigsby getting some abuse. I think it will work out. the pups it came with sound surprisingly decent. The three way is wired to only have one of the three pups active at a time so that and the crappy pots will get switched out. I'm on the fence with the pups, I had planned to change em out but they turned out to be a nice suprise. I'll take some pics tomorrow.

That sounds like a good score Ax...especially if your doing all the mods yourself. On the pickups...its funny, sometime cheap shitty made pickups actually sound good, its almost like they are so badly made that they actually have their own cool character about them. I say keep them in...you might find that when you redo yhe wirin and pots they actually sound even better!

BTW...not to say yours are cheap and shitty...i've had some cheap and shitty ones in the past and was very surprised at how good they sounded.

I'm probably gonna get shunned from the Doom Room but I'm thinking that I might wanna boot my Small Stone off of my board in favor of a Small Clone. I love the way both sound, but I find myself only using my phaser to modulate my delays and to me its like the Small Clone is a better fit for it.

i've always been a fan of chorus...then i didn't have one for a few years and I got one a few months ago, and i really didn't get on with it. At the same time i discovered Phasers...and after a few months of that, i'm not that taken by it either. Just the other week i got a Zoom G3 for home playing and i think i found the effect that i have been looking for...Vibe!

it has all the best things i want from modulation, and coupled with a delay, it sounds amazing on cleans.

long story short...have you looked into a Vibe pedal?

The only vibe pedal I have had was the Malekko Vibe. It was ok, but when I had it I also had a Black Russian Small Stone that I loved loved loved. My dumbass should have never sold it to get a USA Small Stone to save a little space. That Russian one had something about it that just made it sound so much better. I love phase, its just that in all of the songs we have now I'm not really using it other than to modulate my delays.

Huge fan of chorus.
My favourite pedal has been the CCV3 since I got it back in December.

ok...so on chorus...have you tried the Zakk Wylde Chorus...i have to say its one of the best chorus pedals i have ever played...and i think used they would go for the same price as the EHX stuff.

On a different note...I had a thought...granted not a great one but, here goes. Most people (including me) order their pedal board with dirt first and then modulation and delay...but if you think back to the old days when there was no effects look in amps and guitarists used their amp distortion or even boosted it with Fuzz or treble boosters etc, they always had their other effect going into the front of the amp, i.e. before dirt right?

so, why is it that when we organise a pedal board to go into the front of a clean amp we put dirt first? has anyone tried it the opposite way?
