In a week or so, I'll be ordering one of these. Bowing a 42" B string is going to be awesome, methinks.

Yessir. Sold my previous EUB, and have my string bass on consignment to help offset the cost of it. Was thinking of just getting the NXT model, but after talking - at length - with Mark at Gollihur Music, the CR5M is going to suit my needs much better.

Yeah, it's a really cool little touch! I saw the "adopt a kitty" in a picture on your subforum so I thought I'd take a close look. Super nice on the inside by the way!
Also, it looks like you wrote "Hamilton" or something beneath the PCB...it is a mystery.

All being well, this will be getting shipped out to me on Monday, and arriving on Wednesday:
There was a slight hitch on this one, dude had to go on a tour of Belgium and wasn't able to send it out. He's arranged it to be picked up on Monday, and will arrive on Wednesday. Two days before my Birthday, as it happens.

yeah the bridge is less than wonderful, so you may want to start investigating alternatives... mustang bridge or the warmoth modified mustang bridge are popular alternatives. a mastery of course would be ideal but costs at least 1/3 the price of the guitar.
Don't the Blacktops already have Mustang bridges? If not, it's not an expensive mod to do, and a straight drop-in replacement. As is the Mastery, but I have no experience of those. I miss my Jazzmaster, mine was brilliantly shit.
Would get one of those new squier ones, if the sunburst came with the black pickguard.
For someone not in a band though, I have far too much gear. I need to do something about that, if only Wales wasn't so damn backwards as a country.
People assume that time is a strict progression of cause to effect, but actually from a non-linear, non-subjective viewpoint, it's more like a big ball of wibbly-wobbly, timey-wimey... stuff.

After doing some reading about jazzmaster bridges it sounds like the biggest problem I'll have is with strings slipping out of the grooves, I must really hammer them 'cause they even pop out of my tune o matic every other practice. So I might get the warmoth modified mustang bridge and file the grooves in the saddles deeper to accommodate my playing style.
I have quite a while to think about it now that they're backordered.
