yea its not a cheap setup. I think it boiled down to the fact that the TL has lots of kool sounds but i always come back to one basic delay approach and the Moog hits that 99.9% of the time
The timeline is definitely for tweakers and people who want variety, it does everything really really good but its not amazing at any one thing. The Mf104M though is absolutely the best of the best IMO of analog delays with modulation, which is a great sound, but the more I thought about it I wanted swirling lo-fi delays drenched in verb to create a haze of cheech and chong proportions and and rising echoes that emulate waves of the ocean crashing on the rocks combined with a 2 octave down shimmer verb to simulate the call of the siren rising off the seafoam.
Wow... that got deep..
Basically I like having different delays and verbs so I can create different moods of drone. I'd love to get a moog, but I'd feel restricted with only one tone.

That dude had some major problems, I mean come on you gotta have a screw loose to collect Hamer's and non-aluminum Kramers. Sorry dude but 80's hairmetal died out for a reason!!! (no offense to those who may enjoy white snake, dokken, or diamondhead.)

I haven't owned the Timeline or the MF104-M, but the general rule with gear is specialized, individual components outperform integrated systems with the former doing 1 thing well and the latter doing many things "good enough".
Excellence : convenience ratio applies.

This continuous talk of Moogs hurts my credit line. It is the best of the best of the only type of I really use. Although I do use the 2 second delay on my boss ps-2 but its noticeably shitty and awesome. So Nick how do you like the möbius for your application? I'm pretty excited to get mine in.

I agree, specialized will always out do a multi-use for single types but the timeline IMO stretches that theory, you can get some really really killer sounds out of it, but since its digital it can only do analog "so well".
Eggzachary! For the the convenience wins.

I just looked you up on Google Maps and basically all the areas surrounding you have British names. Manchester, Bristol, Norwich, Coventry (I was born in Coventry, UK), Bedford, Northampton. I know the UK colonized the States and whathaveyou, but I always find it curious and interesting when I see places I know so well in the UK also reside in parts of America, the other side of the world.

I'm just a little hesitant because i thought putting 12v through those 9v pedals would kill them...?
Many modern pedals (though not all) are voltage protected due to the influx of versatile power supplies. Some are even current protected. You're best to look up manuals, if they're available, or ask the manufacturer to be safe. One can only make guesses unless they know the schematic and circuit themselves.

That tele, also tits. Those are my favorite teles.
That pedal board, even more tits. It's like a tit party in here.
Is it still hassle for Tom to post tits in nsfw brackets?
Cause pictures of tits are about the only tits I can contribute right now.
I'm still waiting on my enormous door pdx to get to me ( I hope joe posted it. He forgot initially.)
And I ordered some new power supply stuff to fix the potential hassle I've been getting from the supa puss.
Then I might be up for gear tits.
I did just put the adventure time monopoly set on lay by though, so that's cool.
I'd love to hear your thoughts of the PDX when it arrives. I'm tempted by their stuff, but it's pricey for dirt pedals.

After just one night and in the middle of jamming I came up with more usable tones than I did in all of the months I had my Strymon's. The tones were so rich and warm and yet cut through the mix. Really one of the best purchases I've made in a long time.
Hmmm... interesting. *beard stroke*

im really liking it. Compared to the the various delays on the TL, the various modulations on the MB are distinct enough to me to see the convenience factor outweighing the fact that any one modulation is not super mojo. I dig the harmonic vibrato (best none tube emulation of that I have heard), the rotary (leslie) is also quite nice with the built in overdrive emulation of a leslie amp, and the phaser. Plus, it has stereo I/O. My plan is to run all the dirt and pre dirt stuff into the mono input then use the stereo outs to split the signal to the 2 moogs. I should get the new one on Monday then I can wire up the stereo operation on the board and do some direct in recordings of clean tones

Damn, that is going to be a sick stereo set-up. You could do the whole different delay ranges and synch them midi. One could be slow at 750ms and the other could be fast at 187.5ms. Yep, I'm already wanting a pair of Moog delays. That's a long, long way off though. First thing I need is a TimeLine and then an EHX DMMTT1100.

Not as cool as the gigs we have coming up. Shits going well for the band considering we just got our toes wet. Good times.

Although I haven't tried a TimeLine or a Timefactor, I did have an Empress SuperDelay once and was almost messing around with its various parameters. I just like having those extra features and sounds at my fingers. For analog delay tones I'll probably pick up a Malekko 600D and an EHX DMMTT1100, at least until I can afford a 104M. Besides, despite the TimeLine not quite having the mojo of the Moog, it still can do that drawn out, washy sound well enough. I guess it comes down to this: If you can afford a Moog and don't feel the need for all the features of a TimeLine, there should be no reason to buy Strymon since the Moog has all the essential performance features such as midi and tap-tempo.

Don't worry that dude got humiliated, called on his bullshit, banned from ILF for breaking the don't be an asshole rule and may have legal action being taken on him. Tom asked that it not get brought up so I'll shut up about it now.

hahahaha long story short there was a dude in a klon for sale thread in the BST. I started disproving everything he said and shedding light on his ignorant and uninformed comments. So he called me a nazi...

So John (AASS) made the now infamous Hitler Klon video haha
I love having the extra features and near endless tones that something like the TL gives you. I never get bored with it. But your right it basically comes down to do you
need multiple delay types and tones or do you want one really killer one. Your also right that the TL doesn't have the same mojo as the 104M, but it has its own, it can do things that the moog wishes it could do. Especially in abstract atmospheric delays, which the Moog can do but its severely limited in comparison to the TL.

I remember that thread. It was like 30 pages long. Ha! Wasn't he an active member in the community and a regular? At least that's what I remember seeing. I remember thinking, 'Why is this guy posting an overpriced Klon on ilovefuzz? He's a regular, doesn't he know it will be criticized?'
Ideally we'd be able to use a 104M and a TimeLine together on one board. Why is life expensive, Skip? Why aren't I allowed to print money and steal? I. Just. Don't. Get It.

The best Strymon delay model I think is the El Cap, or the dTape on the TL. The nicest thing on the El Cap is the tape saturation with high tape bias, were repeats create a swirl in the background that is under your main repeats, very lovely. I actually think the El Cap itself is better at the tape thing then TL but similar way that a Moog is better at BBD then a TL.

The seller was a regular and still is as he had nothing to do with the flaming, this guy came in though and his first post in the thread was his third on the board, he was one of the old HCFX chat crue dudes who was trying to start up some shit, and you know me I don't take shit from Chat Crue. It was him and Hiwatt Bob, neither of them are allowed back on now.
